He felt his phone receive a notification from his jeans' pocket

He moved towards everyone around the fireplace

He stared at the picture of them just below the clock

He turned away from her smile

It was time to move on

"HAPPY NEW YEAR!!", everyone around him exclaimed.

With the biggest smile, he ignored his phone vibrating, and the photos up the fireplace. Only concentrating in his friends and family, the people celebrating with him.

Time to let go of the past, and to live to the future.

After everything that happened, he wasn't going to let it hold him back. He is going to let go. This is a new year, this is his year.
