YOUR STING

YOUR STING

When you flew by,
You looked so innocent
Voice sounded so harmless

I never thought, or even imagined
That this was the kind of sting,
You'd leave

Staring at you,
My guard was let down
And then you struck
And left your sting

Now, the red spots
Are all I have left
To remember you by.

For after you struck,
Away you flew.
But I'd never forget
Nor let my guard down again

For now I know,
I know your kind...

Oh, thou mosquito
