"We still good to go tonight?" I asked through my phone.

"Absolutely." Henry chimes on the other end, "I'm not even gonna try to hide it, I'm so excited." He laughed.

"Same here." I smiled, "Took you long enough to ask me out huh?" He laughed.

"Hey you didn't ask me out either for ages, so it's not totally my fault." I hummed in agreement.

"Anyway I gotta get ready now, I'll see you at the movie theatres." I checked my watch, I had three more hours until I needed to leave to be on time...

"Yup, see ya..." I waited for him to hang up, "Are you gonna hang up or..."

"I'm waiting for you to hang up..."

"I don't want to though." I laughed.

"We'll I'm not going to." He stubbornly joked.

"Fine I'll hang up then. Byeee." I laughed.

"Bah-bye." he chimed.

I arrived at the movie theatres and waited outside for Henry. As I lent against the wall, I sent him a quick text saying I had arrived.

I was a little nervous considering that I've never actually been on a proper 'date' date before. But Henry has been my best friend for like seven years. I had a crush on him for the past five years and he finally asked me out. Turns out the only reason he spoke to me in the first place in fourth grade was because he had a crush on me.

I checked my watch again... it's been twenty minutes and he hasn't come yet.

I checked my phone, he hasn't even seen the text I sent... dude his phones probably just flat. Chill. He always forgets to charge it or maybe he had a nap and woke up late? I told myself.

But then another ten minutes passed, "Where the hell is he?" I tried to call him, but it went straight to voice mail so I left a message, "Uuuh... hi? Has something changed in the past four hours since we talked? You didn't forget did you? I've been waiting for like half an hour." I tried to laugh it off, "Just an FYI I'm gonna wait for another 10 minutes but... can you just call me or something so I know you're alright? Ok... bye."

Another ten minutes passed.

"Ok you know what. I've waited for 40 minutes and he hasn't shown up yet or called me, he's either been is a bloody car crash or chickened out." I huffed and started walking off, I wasn't even sad at this point, just pissed off. Though I did hope he was ok... I'm gonna feel really bad if he died or something. My brain attempted to humour the situation.

I got home and flopped on my bed, "That was a sucky date, wasn't it?" I sarcastically joked. But I could feel the disappointment in the back of my mind, creeping forward. I changed into my pyjamas and sat on my bed to watch some Netflix before I fell asleep. I needed a pick me up so I watched some Friends. ((Bum bada dadada da da da So No OnE tOlD yA lIfE wAs GoNnA bE tHiS wAyYy 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼 Sorry 😂 ))

Just as I was about to go to sleep my phone started ringing, I picked it up lazily and answered, "Hello?"

"Y/n! I'm so sorry! I was finishing up work to come meet you, but there was an emergency and I had to stay! I'm so sorry! I really wanted to come, but I just couldn't! Please don't hate me!" He sounded out of breath. I sighed and replied.
