chapter twelve, Take her out!

Once Octavia and Nova left the room they went to watch the kids train. Nova sat in her throne and watched with admiration as she notices how good they have gotten since this morning. Nova looks over at the entrance of the arena and sees Clarke walk in and watch the children fight. Nova locks eyes with Clarke and can't help but look away quickly. She can't face Clarke.. not now. Not when Clarke thinks she's a monster for saving her people. But is Nova really saving her people or sending them into a massacre? Nova couldn't quite put it together but she knew she had to do it or her people would see her as weak and that is the last thing she wanted right now.

Once the two children in the middle of the room around down fighting and one of them is knocked on the ground Gaia orders another kid out, "Jonas, You're next" Gaia states and Jonas walks up but Nova has other plans.

"No, Madi... Madi is up" Nova states and Jonas slowly steps back into his seat leaving Madi to stand up before the children of Wonkru looking quite nervous. "Keket, she's not ready" Gaia says looking up at Nova on her throne. "She is. Fight" Nova orders as she sits back in her throne comfortably. Gaia clears her throat looking back to the kids.

Madi walks over and grabs a weapon while looking at Clarke. She leaves Clarke's presence and walks into the middle of the small arena with the lights shining down on her and her opponent. "Be the last!" Gaia states and the children automatically begin fighting. Madi's opponent starts to have the upper hand and Nova watches in disbelief. Clarke has took care of her for 6 years.. she has to know how to fight. The children in the room laugh when Madi is knocked to the ground but Nova can tell Madi can't take it anymore. Once the kid rushes towards Madi she puts her skills to use and begins dodging every hit he sends her way and knocking into his shoulder pushing him away slightly. Nova stands to her feet and walks to the ledge looking down to her.

The kids take a breather before fighting again and Madi clearly had the upper hand and it is clear she won the fight after she knocked the boy to the ground and was about to finish him until Gaia stopped it, "Enough!" Gaia screams making Madi stop in her tracks and look down at her worthless opponent.

"And you say she wasn't ready" Nova breathes out looking down to Gaia before meeting eyes with Octavia who is just as shocked as Nova is. "I want her fitted for armor get her a real sword. Madi, we're about to fight a war on your, land for your land. We could use you we need someone who knows the terrain when we get there" Nova states. "What do you say, Madi kom Wonkru?" Octavia asks looking to Madi. Nova walks down to the arena to face Madi herself. Once she is in front of Madi she puts her hand out to ensure the deal between them.

"Deal?" Nova asks as Madi places her hand in Nova's. "All right, then. We march as soon as the Eye's down" Nova announces before looking over to Clarke who looks quite flustered at the sight and as much as Nova wants to stop this she can't so she puts her emotions aside. "I would like to borrow her for a strategy session. You don't mind, do you, Clarke?" Nova asks and Clarke puts a fake smile on her face while her eyes get watery. "No, not at all" Clarke says as Nova nods her head and looks back down at Madi.

Clarke walks away from Nova and Madi and makes her way down the hallway to meet up with Bellamy. She walks into the room where Monty has been keeping an eye on the eye in the sky and sees Bellamy, Harper and Monty. "Where's Madi?" Bellamy asks looking at Clarke in the doorway. "Having a strategy session with Nova and your sister" Clarke replies as the door closes behind her.

"Clarke, we don't have time for this. We have to leave now. As soon as Diyoza realizes what Echo did, she's dead. We have no choice" Bellamy argues and Clarke shakes her head. "You're wrong. We have one" Clarke states as she walks over to the radio and picks it up but Harper stops her. "Wait. What are you doing?" Harper asks looking to Clarke. "Stopping the cycle. This is Clarke Griffin. I have a question for Colonel Diyoza" Clarke says over the radio waiting for a response.

"Hello, Clarke. It's been too long. What the hell do you want?" Diyoza asks over the radio having Harper and Monty look to each other in shock. "What would it take for you to share the valley?" Clarke wonders and waits for a reply. "Share it? Well, let me see. Short of an unconditional surrender, nothing" Diyoza answers and Monty scoffs.

"Nova won't surrender and Octavia wouldn't convince her" Monty states. "That's why we're gonna take her out" Clarke answers and Bellamy whips his head around to look at Clarke. "Who?" Bellamy asks as Clarke lets out a deep breath while looking to Bellamy.

"Octavia. We're taking out, Octavia" Clarke states and Bellamy furrows his eyebrows. "Nova is the leader. We take her out. We can't forget about her just because you're in love with her" Bellamy argues and Clarke clears her throat. "Nova and Octavia share leadership and it's obvious. They call Octavia the red queen... she has some power in this. Nova.. she's smart but she can become overwhelmed in situations like this" Clarke states and Bellamy nods, "Then she's the perfect target" Bellamy states and Clarke shakes her head. "If Nova looses her right hand man she won't know what to do. If we can simply stop them from going to war for even a day then we have to take out Octavia" Clarke argues as she steps towards Bellamy.

"And I'm going to need your help" Clarke says placing a hand on Bellamy's shoulder. Bellamy looks hesitant but he slowly but surely agrees to it. "Fine, we take out... Octavia" Bellamy mumbles and Clarke sends him a slight smile before going back to talking on the radio.

Deep down Bellamy wasn't thinking of Octavia.
