wolves

I traced down the woods until I lost sight of you,

this concrete jungle reminds me of how great I lose,

cold whiskey and kissing with strangers aren't the cure-

my bed spent years of longing for your body of blue,

and these cold, empty nights remind me of how great I lose.

I wake every twilight by a vision of you

searching all these cities for a person known by little to few,

a careful man searching careless things in the dangerous woods,

and I'm praying each morning for you not to be preyed by the wolves.

If I could only show up on your door like nothing ever happened,

as if I'm not the one behind the pain you've been bearing,

so, I'll pray for your safety,

until you got tired of searching for me.

You are all that matters to me,

you are all that I need,

your space is what I'm longing within,

but I'm uncertain about having you near.

Hope the wild wolves won't hunt you,

hope the wild wolves won't hunt you,

hope the wild wolves won't hunt you,

hope the wild wolves won't find you.
