Niki noticed Jungwon's expression and knew what it meant.

"Hey, don't take it too personally" he said, patting his friend's shoulder.
"Easy to say" replied Jungwon. "I just moved here and one of my roommates passed by and completely ignored me. How am I supposed to feel?"

Niki didn't get an opportunity to answer.

"Hey guys" said someone coming towards them.
"Hey Sunoo" said Niki, gently smiling at the newcomer. "Let me introduce you to Jungwon!"
"Oh right" said Sunoo, coming closer. "Nice to meet you!"
"Nice to meet you too!" replied Jungwon.

Sunoo's smile was contagious. He really had changed the mood of the kitchen in one second, like a ray of sunshine during a cloudy day.

"So what are you up to?" asked Sunoo.
"Lunch" replied Niki, opening the cupboard next to the stove.
"Wanna see a magic trick?" asked Sunoo, looking at Jungwon.
"Sure" replied the latter, curious.

"Then you know what to do Niki" said Sunoo, already laughing.
Niki joined the laugh as he took out some packs of ramyeon.

He had just put water in the pan, when someone else entered the kitchen.

"You guys are making ramyeon?" asked Jake, getting closer to Niki.
"Wow" commented Jungwon. "He's good!"
"He's rather just addicted to ramyeon at this point" added Sunoo, not disappointed at Jake's ramyeon instinct.

The four boys enjoyed their meal together and Jungwon got to know them a little better. Jake was studying maths, whereas Sunoo studied psychology.

"What about you Jungwon?" asked Sunoo.
"I want to study cinema and theater actually" he replied.
"That's pretty cool" said Jake, nodding.
"Niki told us you are his childhood friend?" said Sunoo.
"That's right! We met in kindergarten actually" explained Jungwon.
"Yeah, all the kids in town knew each other, so when my family moved there, most of the kids didn't want to get to know me" started Niki.
"Oh no" whispered Sunoo, frowning at Niki.

Jungwon couldn't help but notice there was a little tension between them.

First the way he smiled when Sunoo arriced and now Sunoo being empathetic...
He lied when he said he hadn't tea on himself.

"But Jungwon didn't mind all that and we became close very fast" he finished.
"You don't even know what this has put me through" said Jungwon, laughing. "He pulled up pranks almost every day and I had to try stopping him."
"Are we still talking about past Niki?" asked Jake, smirking at his friend.
"You still do that?" asked Jungwon, looking at Niki.
"Well, a magician never reveals his secrets" replied the latter, laughing as if he had already planned pranks for the whole week.

The conversation went on and the roommates shared childhood stories and then Sunoo started listing all the pranks Niki had pulled on him since they lived together, which would take a while.
Jungwon wanted to continue talking but something was bothering him. He couldn't focus well on what was said. His mind kept wandering off. As if now that he didn't need to speak, just to listen, his brain had decided it was a good time to overthink.

"Won, are you okay?" asked Niki, noticing Jungwon was lost in his thoughts.
"Yeah yeah" he replied, eating the ramyeon that was left in his bowl. "Everything is alright."
"Are you sure?" asked Sunoo. "You kinda don't look alright."

Jungwon looked away, thus not noticing all eyes on him. Jake frowned.

"Is this about Jay?" asked Niki.
"What did he do now?" added Jake, sounding not surprised at all.

Jungwon stayed silent. He didn't want to sound crazy in front of his new roommates.

"He came home and passed us in the staircase before lunch, but didn't greet Jungwon" explained Niki.
"Oh that" replied Jake, relieved. "I met him upstairs and he asked me who was the person that Niki had invited. He didn't know you were our new roommate."

Jungwon felt his jaw relax a bit.
So he didn't ignore me on purpose?

Jungwon spent the afternoon unpacking his belongings. The bedroom he shared with Jake was quite spacious. They had their beds on opposite sides of the room, a desk and chair each, plus a closet.
Jungwon had only brought the necessary with him, as he didn't know how much space he would have in his new room. He took out his clothes, his laptop, his books and placed them in the closet and on the desk. He liked to have his things well organized.

Once he was all settled, Jungwon decided to take a shower. He wanted to relax a bit and nothing helped him doing that more than warm water on his skin.

He prepared a towel and everything he needed and got out of his room. As soon as he opened the door, he saw Jay's door slightly open.

The urge to look inside grew quite fast in him, he was very curious about Jay's personal space. However, before he could get closer to sneak a peek inside, he heard footsteps coming his way.

Jungwon decided to act natural and stepped outside of his own room. He was halfway through the hallway when he noticed the footsteps he had heard seconds before were Jay's.
In fact, they would cross paths again in two steps.

Jungwon looked up and couldn't help but admire the person in front of him. His hair had a cool undercut, his jawline was the sharpest he had ever seen and-

Those lips..

"Hey" said Jay, feeling Jungwon's eyes on him.

He had stopped walking and was looking at Jungwon too.

"I'm Jay" he said in a low voice.
"I'm Jungwon" replied the latter.

Jay nodded and left his new roommate in the middle of the hallway without any other word.

It took a few seconds for Jungwon's brain to get back control over his body. He had to force himself to go to the bathroom.

As he was about to enter the shower, Jungwon passed by the mirror, and noticed something different in his reflection.

Why am I blushing?
