'To Hermione' was written on the envelope in Ron's messy handwriting. I gestured giving the envelope to Hermione, and Ron nodded. "Hey Hermione," I said, turning around to face her. "Here." she took the envelope, looking confused.
She slit it open with her thumb, and pulled out a letter. Her eyes travelled down the page, and a smile came to her lips.
"Of course." she whispered. "'Mione, what is it?" I asked. She shook her head slightly, and I knew she was still in awe of whatever the letter contained.
Hermione looked up, and, seeing Ron, she walked over to where he was sitting and said simply, "Yes."
Ron looked up, and his face broke into a smile.
By now I was sooooo confused. what was going on?
Hermione POV
I took the letter from y/n, and opened it.
It was from Ron.

I smiled. How could Ron have put my thoughts in a letter?!
Y/N POV
It was the end of class, and Hermione and I were walking through the corridors to Potions.
"So you're going to the ball with Ron?" I asked. Hermione had told me about the letter.
"Yes, although..." Hermione trailed off. "What?" I asked.
"Krum's gonna hate me, I could tell he didn't like Ron, but now I turned him down, I said yes to Ron..."
"Well, so what if he hates you?"
Hermione bit her lip. "Because, he's always in the library for some annoying reason, and if he hates me, he'll pick on me, and the library is the only place I can relax and get work done properly!"
I smiled. "Hermione, you get more work than us done anywhere!"
"But the library is the only place people don't pick on me!"
"People are just jealous of you, you're the best student in our year by far!" Hermione gave me a hug.
"Thanks y/n."
At the end of the day, we returned to our common room to find it had been decorated even more that the tinsel and small Christmas tree that had been there last week. Now there was a hug tree in the middle of the room, and lots of baubles were hanging from it, as well as lights.
"Awww look! each bauble has a Gryffindors name on it!" said Hermione, going over to the tree. I went over and looked at them
"Hermione, look!" I had found two baubles; one was Ron's and the other Hermione's. they were right beside each other and the was a little heart made from ribbon hovering around them. "Thats so.." Hermione was smiling so much, and I could tell she was so happy that she and Ron were going to the ball together.
"CRACK!" I jumped. Dobby the elf was standing right in front of us.
"Dobby!" said me and Hermione together.
"Do you like the decorations?" he asked. "I persuaded the other house-elves to help me decorate the common rooms!" I smiled.
"We love it!" I said.
Dobby said he had to return to the kitchens, so he left, and Hermione and I started our homework.
