"Camilo mi hijo this isn't like you. Why'd you fight that boy?" Mi mami put a hand on her knee, leaning down slightly as she wiped my face with a handkerchief.

"He started it." I muttered under my breath, pulling away from the sting of the hankie on my sore, bleeding cheek and nose. Tía Julieta was no where to be seen so I couldn't be healed until we got back to casita. Papá Félix was busy apologizing to the boys father, who didn't look surprised at all by the antics of his son.

"You're the one who said you would hit me." That annoying boy [Y/n] said calmly from his spot on the angled brick flooring in front of the library. He wasn't to far from me but his father made sure to keep space between us. "Camilo! You know not to threaten people!" Mi mami looked almost horrified at what the boy said.

"Pero mami, el dijo-..." I soon trailed off when I saw mi hermana leading our abuela to my parents and I. Mami noticed and looked behind her at abuela. "Ay mamá! Camilo got into a fight!" She whined as she ran off to abuela, the cloud above her beginning to drizzle in disappointment of me.

Dolores only shot a glare my way before walking over to papá. She asked papá what happened as if she didn't already know. The fact she wasn't the first one here when she hears practically everything felt like an insult.

Soon enough abuela, mami, papá, Dolores and that boys father surrounded the both of us, taking turns scolding the two of us though [Y/n] didn't seem to be listening. When they finally seemed finished abuela took a step forward. "Now, what have you learned from this? Both of you." She asked, folding her hands together in front of her.

I could see a smile I could only describe as menacing perk it's way onto [Y/n]'s face. "Mi hijo don't..." His father muttered pointing a finger at him. The boy ignored him, raising a hand above his head to get mi abuelas attention. "Don't ever fight a dancer, how does such a flamboyant activity translate so well to physical violence?"

I shot him a glare at him. He isn't taking this seriously at all. I knew he was trying to make me laugh and I could not fall for it, I'd get in even more trouble if I did and frankly I didn't need any more trouble then I was already in. He only gave me a smile before turning back at our family's innocently, his father shaking his head in shame. "Lo siento señora Madrigal.." His father said quietly to mi abuela.

He shot me another snarky look and smiled again. "Oh! And don't fight anyone with any kind of magical power! It gets really confusing!" He chuckled a little at his own joke, continuing to make more jokes and even though the look on abuelas face was terrifying in a weird way I wanted to joke around to. [Y/n] may annoy the crap out of me but at least he's funny.

I wanted to be mature in front of my family but something in me still wanted to joke around despite being mid-scolding. "Don't...Don't fight someone who leans in when you say you're gonna hit him." I heard a snicker escape the boy next to me and even though everyone who stood before us looked ten times more angry then before I couldn't help but smile when I saw him turn to hide his laugh from me.

He shook his laugh away and spoke up again. "Don't ever fight someone who rolls up their sleeves when you argue," He paused to laugh at his own joke, "He's about-pffftt-he's about to punch the hell out of you!" He covered his mouth and laughed into his palm.

With the hankie madre gave me I covered my mouth so they couldn't see my laugh. "Mi hijo, language! Stop it!" His dad growled at him, mi abuela giving his father a judgmental side eye.

"Don't fight someone who smiles when you punch him," He let out a loud "HA" in response to my joke, "He's been waiting for that for far too long." I finished, watching the thunder start to crash above mi mamá's head as I held back another laugh.

"Camilo this isn't funny!" Mami said, attempting to fan away the cloud above her. "He's laughing." [Y/n] said, pointing over to mi papá who quickly stifled himself and stood stiff. "Félix!"

"Sorry mi vida!" He quickly shook his laugh away and pulled an angry face, pointing a finger at me. "You know better then to start fights mijo."

"No, no. It was my boys fault." [Y/n]'s father said with a disappointed, almost embarrassed look on his face. "His aggravation issues have become a problem." He shot [Y/n] a glare, though he only smirked in response. "This would not be his first fight."

I watched the boy next to me fix his hair from his face a bit before fake-coughing into his fist, "Camilo hit me first." He grumbled before coughing again. "Hijo stop it!" His dad retorted again.

Abuela shook her head, disappointed in the both of us before turning to Dolores. "They started arguing and Camilo said he'd hit [Y/n], [Y/n] said to do it so he did." She said with a casual shrug.

"And I totally won too." [Y/n] said with a smile. I went to argue but before I could even make a sound abuela grabbed me by the arm and dragged me away.

"That boy is a bad influence! You are not to be around him anymore!" She stated, holding her head high so she couldn't even see me as she dragged me away. I looked at mami for help but she only sighed. "She's right, Camilo. No more of that boy."

While I was being dragged away I could hear [Y/n] being scolded by his father. Faint complaints of, "Don't go around him anymore," and, "Quit hitting the other boys," and even, "You're being a bully, stop it."

I couldn't help but feel a little bad listening to his angry father but frankly it's his fault I'm in trouble so maybe he deserves it.
