Luna's Pov

If Percy saw me spying on him, he didn't say anything about it in class the next day. He didn't say anything to me at all. He took a seat far away from me in the very end with a couple of Slytherins. After class ended, I tried to talk to him but he walked away before I got to him.

The day before, Percy's Pov

I followed Hecate to the trees next to the Black Lake. "Hello Percy Jackson." She said. She was wearing a black hat that covered more than half of her face. She looked around and stopped to look at me. "I have to tell you something." She waited a few seconds and continued. "That friend you have, Luna Lovegood, is being paid to get information about you and report it back to the ministry. You have to be really careful darling because if they find out who you really are there's going to be another war we have to worry about."

I looked at her in disbelief. "You're lying. How do you even know this, you should be on Olympus right now. Luna is my friend she would never do that" I stated.

"Oh really? You think she's your friend? Turn around discreetly." She noted. I quickly turned around and saw Luna in the back of some rocks. Hecate gave me a punch in the arm that made me look away.

"I said discreetly." She shifted her position and hid behind a tree and gestured me to follow her.

"The people here see you as a threat. You have to make them trust you and get information on them or else I have to kill them all." She whispered.

"How am I supposed to do that that it's not my fault you got into this mess in the first place."

Hecate looked at me with wide eyes.

"You said you would help" she said as she punched me in the arm again. "You have to make friends in here as much as you don't like it because if I go down, you go down with me and that's a promise Percy Jackson."

Before I could answer a deep voice interrupted me. "Percy?" he said as he walked towards me.

"Hagrid. Hello." I said.

"What are you doing all alone out here?" he asked. I looked back and Hecate was gone.

"Oh well. You know. Nature." I said as I leaned my hand on the tree.

"You shouldn't be out here so late you know." He replied nervously.

"Yeah, I'm just heading back" I walked out of there quickly and went back inside to the corridors. My mind went to Annabeth, which circled back to the chamber of secrets. I already knew how to open it, the only problem was you have to speak Parseltongue, and I'm pretty sure I can't talk to snakes. Right?

Present Day, Percy's Pov

It was the next day, and I decided to skip potions class and try to sneak in the Slytherin common room. The thing is, I overheard Snape talking to a blond kid about a book written in Parseltongue. And I'm going to steal it. The hallways were empty because everyone was in class, however, Filch and his cat almost caught me in the moving stairs. The whole thing was confusing, there were a hundred and forty-two staircases at Hogwarts: wide, sweeping ones; narrow, rickety ones; some that led somewhere different on a Friday; some with a vanishing step halfway up that you had to remember to jump. And to my luck, today is Friday.

I manage to get to the Entrance Hall, where the Slytherin Dungeon was. I notice a door on the right side and slowly open it. Behind it there is a set of stone steps which descend deep into the dungeons. I go down the stairs and find myself in the entrance to the common room, behind a bare stretch of stone. I know that the password to the common room changes every fortnight, and it is posted on the noticeboard. Slytherin students are warned never to bring students from other houses into the common room, or to reveal the password.

I slowly whisper "Pure-Blood" and the doors open. I have to thank Crabbe, Goyle and their big mouths for that one. The common room looks dungeon-like with greenish lamps and chairs. It has lots of low backed black and dark green button-tufted, leather sofas; skulls; and dark wood cupboards.

Realizing I don't have much time, I start looking quickly for the book. Two minutes passed and I still haven't found it anywhere. Class ends soon, so that gives me about ten minutes to get the book and get out of here before anyone catches me. I look around the room and took a step back. The ceiling. I grab one of the chairs and stood up on it. I am tall, so I reach the ceiling easily, I open a box that has a handle on it and there it is. As I open it, the book falls into my hand along with a pile of dust. I close the box, put back the chair and run away as fast as I can.
