Snapperclaw sat upright in the nursery as Stormkit and Fallowkit tumbled about with a moss ball.
Skykit was trying to balance on her hind legs with Blueheart outside the nursery, which Snapperclaw hadn't liked.
"get it!" Fallowkit yowled, pouncing up and squishing it with her belly.
Stormkit growled. "you squashed it!" she crouched and lunged at her sister, rolling over a couple times.
suddenly Blueheart rushed in with Skykit in his jaws.
Snapperclaw looked up. "what is it?"
"the dark forest." he meowed before rushing back out.
Fallowkit tilted her head. "what's the dark forest?"
Snapperclaw stood up. "bad cats."
she lifted up and piece of moss and dug a hole. "go in, everything will be fine."
the kits reluctantly hopped into the hole.
she put the dirt outside and laid the moss back over the hole.
she stood over the hole.
a dark figure approached the nursery and stepped inside.
the first thing she saw was giant red eyes as it slashed her cheek.
blood splattered from the wound and she fell down, covering the hole with her body.
"get up." it growled.
she shook her head.
it growled and flung her out of the nursery, lifting up the moss and grabbing Stormkit.
"Stormkit!" she yowled. the cream kitten flailed and scratched the dark cat's eyes.
it growled, slashed her nose, and then disappeared.
Snapperclaw rushed into the nursery. "Stormkit!"
her nose was bleeding, and there was a big dark spot under her eye.
the other two kits were huddled up in the back of the hole, shivering and whimpering.
Blueheart rushed in. "Snapperclaw!"
she stared at where the cat had disappeared. who was that cat?
Riverstar appeared beside her and stared at her paws.
"Brokenstar."
