Asher walks to the steps of the school building. He sees Alex walking in the door, he sprints up the stairs in hopes he'll be able to catch up to Alex. Alex walks surprisingly fast for someone who hates all forms of exercise. When he finally catches up to the boy, he begins talking to him about how excited he is for the first day of school and how he thinks Alex should start making friends. Alex responded ever so often, silently, so no attention would be brought to him.
Asher's enthusiastic bubbly personality was not the polar opposite of Alex's but was definitely different. You would've never expected for them to have been bestfriends since before they were even born.
