Arlean wasn't sure where she was going, she just knew she needed to be away from Wells- and Clark who was becoming as much as a problem as he was.
She never understood what people's deal was with her. Even before she was Confined, people always seemed to have found a way to look down on her or hate her or be rude.
Was it her personality? She didn't know. Maybe it was just her in general.
"Arlean?"
Arlean spun around and found herself face to face with Bellamy.
"What the hell do you want?" She hissed, facing him.
"What I want is to know," Bellamy raised his eyebrows, "is why Clark feels the need to kill you."
"Who put Clark in charge?"
"And also what your problem with Wells is."
"Its none of your business." She told him defiantly, sitting down in a patch of the grass.
"I think it is, since we're all stuck down here together in some twisted community." Bellamy sat down beside her.
She cast him a sidelong glance and breathed out a sigh. Bellamy realized when all the defiance and fight had gone out of her, she wasn't as old as she seemed.
"How old are you?"
"What?" Arlean was taken off guard by his sudden question. "I'm eighteen."
Bellamy nodded. "So they were going to..." He trailed off and Arlean filled in the blank.
"When they came for me I thought that was going to be it." She muttered. "I thought they were going to kill me. I was ready." She shrugged non-nonchalantly. "Didn't have any reason to live anyways."
That took Bellamy off guard. "Somebody always has a reason to live, Arlean."
"Well I didn't. And all I know now is that I'm stuck down here with people who want to kill me." She stared up at the sky. "What'd you do to get sent down here anyways?"
Bellamy groaned. "I tell you what- when you tell me, I'll tell you."
Arlean gave him a smirk. "Guess neither of us will ever know, then." She leaned back and laid on the grass.
Bellamy just shook his head with a chuckle. He'd couldn't figure her out. One minute she was an intimidating person, the next she was admitting stuff to him and now she was relaxed and joking.
He didn't know how she did it.
Arlean sighed as Bellamy fell back beside her.
He didn't know if she heard him or not but he quietly murmured, "When they find out what I did to get here, they'll probably want to kill me too."
