max berman, sat by her best friend john b as she watched the boy and his girl walk across the beach pulling the girl into a kiss. max could officially say she was jealous. "someone looks jealous," john b teases. "i'm not jealous, just... thinking you know?" with a flat face she looks over at john b, "yeah thinking about how much you want to punch the smile off her face," john b responds with a chuckle as her eyebrow raises and her nose scrunches up. "not true!" she tests. "oh you know i know you're in love with j, own up to it!" john b says rolling his eyes, as max attempts to say something as she simply shushes herself knowing he's right. john b wipes the sand off his knees and stands up reaching for max's hand, "you know i'm teasing you, don't take it too seriously." he says as she looks down with a frown. "stop with the sad faces let's go and pass out some drinks, get some beer in our systems." he says with a smile. max looks up then back down for a second, "you know what let's do it, i could go for about four beers," she responds lifting her head and dragging john b to a cooler. as she was reaching for two beers she felt the touch of a hand on her cold finger tips due to the fact she had been holding onto the other beer. looking up she saw jj with a smile on his face and he was without his lap dog for the first time that evening. "long time no see j." she said snarkily. "i've been around and you know it." he said defending himself while placing his hand on his chest acting flabbergasted like she had said something that wasn't true. "so wheres your lap dog j?" john b interrupted before max could say something she would regret. "she's not my lap dog and she's busy talking to sarah." jj responded with a flat face. "sarah?" max paused. "as in sarah cameron, kook princess, dating topper thorton, who also happens to be with her tonight. damn she's on a roll tonight." max says smiling at her witty remark. as jj was about to respond with clear intentions to defend his girlfriend out of anger john b interrupts him, "you know what guys why don't we just enjoy our time here while we have it and go to the keg." john b says clearly done with their conversation. "fine, but if i hear one thing about alexie i will jump off a cliff." max says clearly jealous. before jj could say anything john b grabs their arms pulling them towards the keg.

We stood by the keg handing out drinks for about an hour, laughing at jj's jokes, and we had probably downed 6 beers combined. "J look it's your girlfriend and her new friend." I said with a smirk on my face. JJ steps closer to them as john b tries to grab ahold of his wrist, "John b," I said trying to tell him to let go and let jj do him. john b ignored me, "What're you doing," john b asks jj as he ignores him. "sarah, can i interest you in a tasty milwaukee beverage?" jj asks clearly knowing what answer he was gonna get. "No." sarah answers clearly knowing jj was trying to pick a fight and mess around. "is it not fancy enough for you? jj asks trying to push toppers buttons. as topper steps in i put my arm in front of jj's stomach trying to prevent him from stepping any closer, "hey, you know what? i'll take it," topper says trying to end the conversation. "that's nice, buttt... i didn't ask you." jj says clearly pushing toppers buttons. "if you said pretty please, maybe, but you didn't." jj says pushing further. "oh, pretty please." topper says playing along with jj's game. "yeah? sarah, pretty please?" jj says proding further. "you can have it." sarah says clearly done with jj's antics. "she doesn't want it, you..." before topper could finish his sentence jj pushes him spilling the drink all over him. as topper starts to push back sarah interrupts them trying to hold topper back, "okay. no, no, no." sarah says once she has topper in her grip. letting go of him out of angry words topper starts it all, "dirty pogues!" as he says that's john b turns around lunging at them. as they topple, punch, and take blows from eachother a crowd surrounds them yelling, "fight, fight, fight!" pope tries to grab him, "john b, we're supposed to be incognito, remember?" john b ignores him as he tries to fight back against toppers strong blows. "stop you guys!" kie yells at them as topper brings him toward the ocean. "hey, john b, don't make me drown you like your old man, all right?" in that moment topper had gone too far for my liking as i stepped forward ready to kick him where it'll hurt real good, i feel arms around my waist. "stop m, i'll handle it." jj says calming my nerves as he lets go he fishes for something in his backpack. as i notice the metal shaped banana he pulled out i yelled out to him, "JJ, no!" i tell as he ignores me even though topper was practically drowning  john b i knew jj was gonna take it way too far. I hear the gun safety click, feeling as thankful as i ever was. "yeah, you know what that is, your move broski." jj says with a evil smirk as i notice alexis for the first time tonight holding onto sarah tight. "come on, chill, dude." topper says letting go of john b making me let go of the breath i had been holding for the whole fight. "stop! jj! put the gun down." sarah says frantically. "did you say somethin', princess?" jj asks still with the same smirk and the barrel of the gun on the side of toppers head. "we're good. we're good. put the gun down!" topper says as jj puts the gun down and throws topper towards sarah as she holds onto him in a hug. "Kie, Max! can you check your psycho friend, please?" sarah says with a big amount of bitterness. "how about you check your ugly ass boyfriend!" i say back in anger. "okay, everyone, listen up! get the hell off our side of the island!" jj tells like a monster as he in clicks the safety and puts the gun up into the air shooting 2 rounds of bullets. as everyone runs off the island kie yells at him, "are you crazy?" she says with a clear amount of anger. "you idiot!" pope yells at him. as pope and kie continue to yell at him, i walk towards john b helping him up and holding him in my arms. as we walk towards the group out of the glimpse of my eye i see alexis walking over towards us in clear anger. "are you crazy JJ? why would you do that," alexis yells at him in anger. for the first time that night jj looks up, "i was saving his life, okay?"jj says looking down again. "you know what jj. until you get your shit together don't come see me." alexis says walking away us all knowing she would forgive him by the next day. as we stand there knowing jj wasn't planning on speaking to us pope grabs him making him stand so kie could drive us all back. as we get into the car i sit in the back with jj and john b holding onto him fearing that was gonna be the last time i saw him tonight knowing topper was close to drowning him. as we arrive to john b's i offer to walk him in. "jb just know i'm glad you're safe." i say speaking to him for the first time since the fight, pulling him into a hug. as he lets go walking into his house that has been empty for months he turns around, "i love you m." he says with a closed smile on his face. i look down then back up, "i love you too jb." i say with a smile on my face as he closes the door and i walk back to kies car.
