listening to Taylor swift while at a cafe doing homework? seems like a pretty good time considering I have nothing else to listen to since I downloaded all of her songs and nobody else's

I take quick breaks here and there looking at my surroundings and these two people have caught my eye, both seeming to attempt at doing tricks on their boards, failing miserably kinda making me want to go over and show them but I haven't skateboarded since I was 18 making that 3 years ago

it's not that big of a surprise that one of the boards comes rolling over since they're trying to do kick flips, a boy with poofy hair immediately running over which I'm guessing is the owner of the board

"I'm so sorry" he says in between breaths looking over at his friend and pointing over to him "my friend somehow kicked it over here"

I shake my head warmly smiling up at him "it's not worries, besides I can tell you have somewhat more experience with skateboarding right?"

He immediately nods and smiles back at me, taking in my question "yeah I do, it's pretty fun"

"yeah it is, I used to skate it helped me get my mind off a lot of things"

"used to? if you don't mind me asking why?"

"yeah" I sigh thinking back to what made me stop skateboarding "it's a long story don't really feel like explaining"

"oh it's okay, there was no need to explain" he pauses "it was only if you wanted to"

"karl! are you coming or not!" his friend yells as he quickly turns back to look at me, mouthing out a sorry before running back to his friend, leaving me to smile at his retreating figure

back to listening to Taylor and doing my homework until we have another encounter one day, which I doubt but really hope for since he seemed like a really nice guy

as soon as I mention that I notice him and his friend running over to me, a wave of happiness and relief washing over me instantly
