I woke up early like 9 am, to the sound of moving trucks and people yelling.
"Up the stairs to the left." One man shouts
It continues like this for about an hour.
'Guess today is the day.' I think out loud.
Groaning, I finally get up out of bed and head downstairs to see my mom and dad down at the kitchen table drinking coffee and reading the paper.
"Morning familia" I say
"Morning, Leah." My dad says.
"I thought the movers were in next week?"
"Guess not," Mom says
"I was thinking, maybe later we can go over and welcome them to the neighborhood. I mean might as well like them if they're going to be living next to us." Mom says
"Sure, maybe make them cookies," I say.
"Excellent idea Leah, I'll start on those cookies now, while you go get ready," She announces.
I get up from the table putting my plate in the sink, going up to my room to get ready.
I get in my closet and get my outfit (*Outfit above) and head to the bathroom to shower. Bringing my phone and speaker with me, I put my playlist on and get my shower. Once I'm done, I get out and I blowdry my hair, and put some light makeup on. After that I walk down to the kitchen and see my mom getting the cookies out of the oven. "Need some help?" I ask handing her a spatula from the jar. "Uhh, ya can you take these and set them on the table, I've got more to get out." She tells me handing the cookies to me. I take the cookies at place them on the table. She finishes getting the rest of the batch out, setting them on the table. I decide to go back to my room and clean up a bit before I leave. While I'm cleaning I get a text from my boyfriend, . I respond to him and continue to my room. My sisters Riley and Alexa come in and we hangout for a bit. "Hey did you hear about the new neighbors having a son about your age Leah?" My sister Riley asks. "Umm, no but that doesn't matter I have a boyfriend." I tell them. "Ya, a shitty one" Alexa spits back. "Lex, he's not shitty he's just not always in the best mood and sometimes gets it out on me." I tell them. "By pushing you around like a pet, sure" Riley spites back. "Whatever, can we not talk about this right now?"I ask trying to change the subject. "Fine, but just know Asher is a piece of shit and you deserve better, Leah, whether you think that or not." Riley states to which Lexi agrees. "Thanks you guys but I'll be okay." I reason with them. We continue talking till my mom calls "Leah, your cookies are ready." I make way downstairs to the kitchen. I grab the cookies thanking my mom for making them. Getting my shoes and coat I walk across the street. I ring the doorbell and a tall, middle aged, maybe mid 30's women answers the door. "Uhh, hi I'm Leah, I live across the street," I point to my house, "I brought some cookies to welcome you all to the neighborhood." I say handing her the cookies. "Oh, well Leah how nice of you, please come in, come in, I'd like you to meet my family." She says. "So this is Carmen, my oldest, she's 16, my other daughter Brooklyn who's 15, Ashton, he's 18 and our baby of the house Caleb, he's 16." She says
"So Leah, tell us about yourself" she says.
"Uhh, well I'm one of 4. I have younger twin sisters, Riley and Alexa and I have a brother name Ethan. I have a boyfriend names, we've been together two years this December." I say as I notice Caleb tense up. "I'm also 16 and a I'm a junior this year, I love to read and draw in my spear time." "And ya that's me..." I say
"Well Leah, you say you'll be a junior this year so will Caleb, you go to Stonewall Prep right?" She asks. I nod. "Well great maybe you could show Caleb around the school, that way he'll have a friend to start the year off." She asks. "Uhh, ya sure." I say. I look at my watch and see it's 5 o'clock. "Well I actually have to get going, I'm surprising my boyfriend with a mini date." I tell them. "Ohhh, he must be a lucky kid, to have someone as great as you!" She says
