merry Christmas to all that celebrate it!
"He... He wasn't there when I left, I swear," You turned to Kaiba with obvious panic in your voice. The CEO kept his steady expression as he analysed the intruder. He was tall- on par with himself- which irked the proud businessman.
Like his height, every aspect of the new man seemed to contradict the image of an average citizen, almost like he was a lone alien amidst humans. He had aquamarine eyes that sparkled with such an intensity that you could easily believe a single look could electrocute entire nations.Yet, whilst they shone with subtle pride and compassion, there was an undeniable sense of sorrow hidden in their depths. Hopelessness, guilt and grief twirled in a miserable formation, surrounding his pupil in circles, as if tainting everything he saw with those same emotions.
Long, silky locks of hair tumbled down his shoulders in a toxic shade of purple, stopping at his waist and surely becoming the envy of any that laid eyes upon him. His bangs fell neatly into a 'V' shape over his forehead, so neatly infact that Kaiba briefly wondered if it was a symbol.
"Oh? Then how, pray tell," He finally turned to stare down at you with an unreadable gaze, "Did he manage to get down here?"
"I don't know," You admitted, "I really don't know. But isn't it worth checking the security footage? My laptop's fine... I think..."
A few tense seconds passed as Kaiba thought it over, before finally nodding.
The mystery man watched quietly as you edged towards him, hand outstretched to grab your laptop with an almost comical speed before backtracking to stand with your boss.
Whilst you were engrossed in the security files from the past hour, the brunette next to you began his interrogation.
"Why are you here?" Kaiba started off bluntly, knowing the answer to his other most pressing question would be answered soon enough.
"I didn't choose to come here." Was all the other man said, deliberately avoiding the main point.
"That's not what I asked."
"I know. But you won't believe me if I give a straight answer."
"Let me guess, more hocus-pocus ancient Egyptian bullshit. Did Yugi put you up to this? Or was it Ishizu?" Kaiba sneered, intent on riling the purple haired man up enough for him to spill secrets he didn't mean to.
The intruder's eyes narrowed, but just as he opened his mouth to retort, you cleared your throat urgently.
"Sir?" You addressed the brunette next to you, who turned to you with mild annoyance at being interrupted.
Wordlessly you handed him the laptop and hit the play button, having isolated the section of film relevant.
A few tense seconds passed, two sets of eyes on the CEO and the remaining on the screen.
Finally, Kaiba spoke up.
"What the fuck?"
