Aftermath Of I Do

    Looking at the time I sighed frustratedly, Jide is supposed to be back by now but he isn't. I went over to the dining room where I dropped my phone picking it up, I dial his contact severally but he wasn't picking up, I got tired and drop my phone on the couch entering the kitchen to microwave the food I already prepared.

After successfully microwaving the food, I took a little portion from it and sat down in the dining room eating it while going through my phone too

Jide have been coming home late for the past weeks always complaining about how hectic work is, I still don't understand why he chooses to be late when he can as well continue his work at home.

A year after we got married, Jide was able to establish his own company here in London and I couldn't be more proud. I still work at thesame hospital but as a senior nurse, I had my master degree two years ago and I got promoted.

I took my used plate inside the kitchen, I washed it and make sure to take it back to it's rightful place. I went to the sitting room and change it to my favourite channel, I checked the clock on the wall and it's almost eleven in the night. I yawn and didn't know when sleep took me

"... Baby! Wake up sweetheart!" I slowly heard Jide's voice and open my eyes, I saw his suitcase in front of me and sat up. I look at the time and it's almost one in the night

"You're just coming home?" I asked trying to control my anger

" I'm sorry baby, work was... "I cut him short

" Can you cut me the slack! Same line always. Doesn't it ever get old?! You love to always keep me waiting and you know I work too! "I said angry and he rub his temples

" Babe, I'm tired and not up for this. We will talk tomorrow" Jide said and I swallowed trying to control my anger

"Cool! Then good night!"I said standing up and going to the room, he followed me in andI heard his sigh before he lay down on the bed beside me

I woke up early to get ready for work, I was in the morning shift and my phone have been ringing, we have an emergency surgery today in the hospital, I didn't see Jide in the bed when I woke up and I couldn't even care much, I was so angry at him

I went to the bathroom and performed my morning rituals, I quickly dressed up checking my bag if everything is inside, I was about leaving when I remembered I haven't had my breakfast, I checked the time and I was almost late, I sighed and decided to eat after the operation, I was about leaving the room when the door opened and Jide came in with food, he was holding a dish on a tray and I was shocked, I thought he might have leave the house

"What are you doing?"I asked

"Sit"he said and I took a step back giving him a wary look

"Can you calm down babe"he said and chuckled

"I'm calm! I'm calm!"I said and sat down on the bed, he placed the tray before me and went down on his knees, I unconsciously raised my left brow at him

"I'm sorry! I'm so sorry for all I have been doing, I really love you and I would never do anything to hurt you"Jide said and I look away immediately getting all emotional

"You have been distance Jide and I don't know, is it because I haven't been able to give birth to a child for you? I just feel like you're seeing another woman and you use your work as an excuse"I said and Jide open his mouth to talk and close it back

He sighed squeezing his eyes before talking "see Kike, I don't care if you can give me a child or not, it won't make me love you any less"he said and I started getting riled up
