"You are the masked murderess, aren't you?" Xion queried, his eyes boring to the back of her head as if he could see the answer inside.
The lady let out a sigh before she unwillingly turned around to face him. She fixed her glasses by pushing the rim up using her index finger. "Do you think I am the masked murderess?"
Xion fought himself from letting his glare waver as he looked at her point at herself. She was too young to be one. They probably have the same age. Too impossible to be the masked murderess.
And the way she dresses.
Her dress looked more than what a peasant would wear. Her brown hair was fixed in a half up-do, decorated with clips with the shape of stars. And her glasses, he was sure she wasn't wearing it before she pushed him off... Or maybe he was confused for a second due to the shock.
He suspected that her class would be quite high. But why has he never seen her before?
"Based on how you look, you're probably a daughter of a nobleman."
"Yes, I am."
"But the thing is, I've met every daughter of every nobleman in this kingdom yet it's the first time I've seen you."
"Then that means you really have never met every woman in this kingdom." She shrugged her shoulders before muttering. "This womanizer thinks he has bedded every woman--"
"I am not a womanizer!" Xion instantly protested, looking so offended. "You must mean my brother, Hwanw-no. That doesn't matter. What I meant is that I've met everyone at the royal gathering. I would never..."
The lady stifled a laugh at how Xion was rambling, making him stop and glare at her. "You're changing the topic."
"Calm down, young man. You have never seen me before because I never attended any royal gathering."
Why would I attend gatherings of people who do nothing but party instead of treating the slaves right?
"You haven't attended one? But it was required by every noble family to join the royal gatherings." Xion's eyebrows furrowed. He was either confused and suspicious with her answers. Surely, they wouldn't reject a royal invitation, right?
"I was busy reading." She simply said. "I don't really even care that much about the royals."
"You do know you are talking to a royal, right?" Xion looked at her with his eyebrow raised.
Of course, I do know. I also know that you are the youngest prince.
She stood still as she plastered a look of shock at Xion which looked believable. "You're a royal?"
Now, Xion looks confused, maybe offended too. He placed a hand on his chest. "You... You don't know me?! I am Xion, the youngest prince of this kingdom. How dare you—"
The lady immediately made a long bow. Though she has to put on an act, she would never kneel for him. "Forgive me, your highness. I had no idea who I was talking to. I let my ignorance get the best of me."
She tried to run away but Xion was quick to hold her wrist, stopping her. "You think you're going to slip off that easily? After not coming to the royal gatherings and not recognizing me? Or perhaps you're really not a daughter of a nobleman."
The lady breathed in, her fingers slowly coming to her corset. She was ready to pull out her knife and just take his life right now.
"I need to see your parents to make sure of it." Xion said.

"Father, I'm home." The lady entered the door while Xion was behind her.
