4 Months Later... (also i do state my belifs on santa in this chapter you may not want to read if you don't want to like idk get ur childhood spoiled also this is mainly just christmas stuff so you can skip if you want)

It was now christmas time, and Toni had been learning new things this whole holiday. Toni remembers when she asked her father if they could celebrate christmas after her mom died, since they used to, but he immediately said no.

"Daddy how come we haven't put out tree up yet? I seen the decorations outside...it's almost christmas time." She explained to her father.

Thomas looked at her from his desk. "You're simply ungrateful. You're in this warm house, while it's snowing out side, and you're worried about gifts!? People are freezing to death this time of year, and you're being selfish! Go to your room! You're lucky I don't just throw you into the cellar."

"N-No daddy I-"

"Go, now before I get my belt."

Toni felt tears running down her tan cheeks before she was running to her room.

She learned a lot of the traditions Cheryl did with her family, and Toni was so fascinated by everything. She doesn't remember a lot from the few times she celebrated with her mom, but she did remember baking cookies with her, which she'll probably never forget. She doesn't think she'll ever forget the things she did with her mother.

Another thing, Toni actually got to play in the snow this year. Thomas had never let her, but this year Toni played with Sofia out there.

"Daddy! It's snowing!" Little five year old Toni exclaimed excitedly as she looked out the window. "Can I go play?"

"You really think you deserve to go play outside in the snow?" Her dad asked her as he read his news paper. "You haven't been doing well with your school work, and you've been talking back to Stephanie."

Toni looked down. Stephanie has been being really mean to her, but Thomas never believed her when she told him.

"Plus snow is makes messes, and knowing you- you would track snow into the house and make a mess."

Another thing Toni got to do was see Sofia's first steps. The small girl stood herself up with the table's help, and walked to Toni who was sitting in the couch.

Cheryl wasn't home and Toni didn't have a phone or anything so she couldn't capture the moment, but when Cheryl came home and Sofia walked to her, Toni played it cool and pretended those were her first steps.

"My baby walked!" Cheryl yelled as she looked at Toni. "My baby walked!" She picked up the baby excitedly before throwing her up in the hair making Sofia laugh. "I'm so proud of you!" She kissed all over the babies face.

Right now it was christmas eve, and Veronica was trying to explain to Toni what Santa was. She was kind of shocked the eighteen year old didn't know what Santa was, but also considering the way she grew up, she shouldn't of expected anything more.

She didn't tell Toni that Santa was just some old tale, because she knew Toni didn't have much of a childhood, so she just told her what she was told growing up.

"—but if you be mean, he'll put you on the naughty list, and only bring you coal." Veronica finished her story.

"Oh." Toni said simply. "So I'll only know tomorrow if I've been good by Santa's standards?"

"Basically. I think you've been pretty good though." Veronica nodded.

"Really?" Toni smiled excitedly.
