Last update of the year :0. If you guys keep up with me, then I'm sure you have heard the name Poetry Boy before. And if you have, then you know this song/poem is about him LOL

I actually began writing out the instrumental. The key signature is C# major. The lyrics are structured more as a song than a poem so it sounds kinda wonky as a poem so here's the "song version" or smthng lol

Tongue-Tied
(aka me simping for a boy but in ~rhyming form~)

You came on Christmas Day as though you were a miracle
And all I could think of was how you were really real
Dashing looks, your personality alluring
Leaving me with goosebumps as though you're poetry

Your voice with grit of smooth stone
The words you sing create my favorite song
I want to sing along with you, and I tried
Until I realized

You leave me feeling tongue-tied
With that pretty-boy smile of yours
Your voice is the lick of nicotine
That I need to take a break for
Your name lights up my phone and my day
As I figure out the words to say
But how am I to speak,
How am I to compete
When you're written like poetry?

Do you believe in soulmates?
Personally, I don't
But when you wrap your arms around me
I can't feel myself let go
The world, to me, is beautiful but with you I see it all
I see all the little things I never saw before
You're like the sun outside my window, and I hate that it gets dark

I want to sing along with you, and I tried
Until I realized

You leave me feeling tongue-tied
With that pretty-boy smile of yours
Your voice is the lick of nicotine
That I need to take a break for
Your name lights up my phone and my day
As I figure out the words to say
But how am I to speak,
How am I to compete
When you're written like poetry?

I know, oh I know
That it's all so far away
That you have your life and I have mine
With no extra room for anything
But I want you to know— oh I need you to know
That when the time is right
The moment I'm waiting for finally
Comes to life
Then I'll be at your door
Waiting for you, take your time until

Until you realize

You leave me feeling tongue-tied
With that pretty-boy smile of yours
Your voice is the lick of nicotine
That I need to take a break for
Your name lights up my phone and my day
As I figure out the words to say
But how am I to speak,
How am I to compete
When you're written like poetry?
