5 more days. That's how much longer it would be until I would have to face Harry again. I was nervous, but I was ready. Or at least I thought so.
Bea had visited yesterday. She suggested that we go out. Her and Louis had started dating and Louis had a friend named Ashton who she thought I would get along with. She said I needed to move on.
I was laying in bed when she got here, still in my pajamas.
"Hey." She said as she set her bag down, a sympathetic smile on her face.
"Hi." I replied, slowly sitting up.
"Louis and Ashton will be here in about two hours, I told them to give us some time alone for a bit." She informed me as she sat on my bed.
"Thanks." I smiled at her.
Bea was honestly the only person who could make me feel better right now.
"We didn't plan where to go yet. we figured we'd leave that up to you." She said.
I honestly didn't want to go anywhere. I wanted to stay home and sleep. But Bea was my best friend and I want her to be happy and not have to worry about me, so I had no choice.
I thought of the possible places we could go. There was the movies, where it was dark and no one would talk to me, but that's where Harry and I went on our second date. The gondola ride, the picnic by the lake, Ground Zero, the mall, the lazer tag arena. I don't think I could go back to those places.
I guess I started to cry just then, because Bea pulled me into a hug, rubbing my back.
"It's okay, Lyla. Don't cry. I'm here for you. I'm always going to be here for you, no matter what. You're my best friend-no, my sister. And sisters stick together through everything. I love you, no homo though." She told me.
I laughed at her last sentence. I hadn't laughed in days, so it felt strange.
She pulled away, laughing too. I laughed harder, and soon we were both laying on the bed, laughing harder than we should've. But it wasn't because she made a joke, it was because I actually showed a sign of happiness in the past couple of days since Harry's arrest. And to be honest, I actually felt good inside, even if it was for just a couple of seconds.
"Let's get you ready." Bea stated, grabbing me by my hand and dragging me over to my closet.
She helped me pick out something simple; a t-shirt and jeans. I changed, then we did my makeup. Bea gave me a natural look, covering up the bags that had formed under my eyes. Once she was done, she examined her work.
"You look hot." She told me as she made me spin around.
"Can I stop spinning now?" I asked.
"No, let me take pictures."
"Come on." I laughed, grabbing her hand and going downstairs.
We sat on the couch as we waited for the boys.
"Ashton is really sweet. I think you'll like him." She explained.
I shrugged, picking at a loose thread on my jeans.
Soon, the doorbell rang and Bea and I stood up.
"You ready?" She asked, hooking my arm in hers as headed towards the door.
"I hope so."
