The teal-haired gourmet elegantly stepped down each stair step beneath her. Her annoyed tone started explaining about how Gourmet Hunters risk their lives just to satisfy societies' taste buds.

"All Hunters at least know some form of martial art." she testified, spinning the knives gracefully held in her hands. She spun them around forming a circle. She also juggled them too.

"I'm starting to get dizzy.." Gon mumbled. I give him a side glance to see his chocolate brown eyes fixated on the knives she juggled. I couldn't help but to let out a small chuckle at his remark. It was really entertaining to be around him.

"You all failed except the girl that passed!" Menchi reinformed. I truly felt horrible about how my friends and no other applicant had passed except me. I saw the faces of my friends which made me feel guilty. Their faces of defeat and disappointment made me want to speak up, but I couldn't manage to get peep out. A voice of a male was projected louder than ever came from the sky.

"That said, it would be excessive to fail every single applicant except this one little girl." he finished. I shielded my eyes from the gleaming sun and managed to make out a blimp in the air. On it's side, it had a hunter association symbol on it.

"Is it someone from the Selection Committee?" people gossiped. A figure descended from the blimp and made it's landing on the sandy brown floor. The impact of this landing was so strong that it sent rocks and even people flying. Yelps and gasps we're present when sand and dust filled the air. Coughs of desperation for clean air eventually followed after. I look to my right to hear a scream of a young boy.
Without hesitation, I leaped to grab him and flew with him. I pulled him into a tight embrace and did my best to shield him from any injuries. We ended up crashing into a cooking station with a rack stored up with knives. Just what is my luck? Everyone whipped their heads around to the screaming of the young boy and the crash into the cooking station.

"Did you guys see that?" a person gossiped. "Did that girl just protect him?" another gossiped back. I grunted in pain and coughed. "Hey! Are you alright? You didn't get any injuries did you?" I asked, full of concern. I look at the boy and gasp a bit at his beauty. He had dark blue hair which reached to his shoulders with some strands of hair pulled back and tied into a ponytail. His black eyes were filled with astonishment and anxiousness when he looked at me. He wore a white button shirt with a peach sweater vest. His outstanding jeans brung out his green sneakers. He had a blazer hanging off his shoulders like me. It was white and yellow. He wore a sea blue train conductor style hat? Not sure what to call it. "Thank you. Most importantly, are you okay?" he stood up and dusted his jeans off. He held out his hand for me to reach and I gladly accepted it. His hands seemed feminine and was slender.

"URK!" I yell at the pain in my hand. I hear people gasp and whisper when they looked at me. I look at my left hand and saw a knife pierced through my palm. "How does this even happen." I sigh.

"Y/n! Y/n!" I hear panting from some familiar voices. "Y/n! We finally got through the crowds an- oh my goodness." Kurapika paused as he directed his attention to my hand and my bruises due to the impact. Gon, Killua, and Leorio's did the same as they stood there in silence. So did the crowds of applicants. "Yo! So um, as you can see I'm kind of in a complicated situation right now." I chuckled and grunted in pain. Without hesitation Kurapika, Leorio, Gon and Killua leaped to me with concern. "Oh my gosh, Y/n!" Kurapika called out. "Y/n?!" Killua yelled. "Y/n, your hand! It's been pierced!" Gon cried. "Um, I can see that." I sighed. "It's no time for jokes!" Leorio scolded while frantically and cautiously pulling out the knife and bandaging my hand.

"Are you okay?" asked the blue haired boy whom I protected. "Yeah! I kept the damage to a minimal but that was pointless since hell somehow found a way to injure me in another way." I chuckle. He awkwardly smiled back wondering how could you look so used to it.

"Are you okay? I'll keep in mind of where I land from now on. " an old man with impressively saggy earlopes questions. "Yeah. Continue one what you were saying." I smile. For fucks sake, he's a hunter. He should of known better. "The chairman of the Selection Committee. He's in charge of taking care of the Hunter Exam." Menchi announced.

"Chairman Netero,"
