scared for mission

okay hi. i had and idea to write this and it's gonna be a little different. natasha isn't going to be actually in this one shot but she is still our mom. also this is a romanogers moment 😋 and uncle bucky!

backstory- so basically you overheard tony talking to your mom (nat) and dad (steve) about a dangerous mission they had to go on. you over heard their conversation and bucky comes to comfort you.

you sat on your bed in the compound reading your book. you weren't really reading it though. you were actually just worrying about your mom and dad. you heard tony telling them how dangerous this mission was going to be and how he only trusts them to go on it. your door creaks open and you look up from your book. a little white cat walks into your room.

"hey alpine" you lean down to pick up the white cat and putting her in your lap. you slowly stroke her soft fur.

"we wanted to make sure you were okay" you hear bucky say softly and calmly. you look up and see him leaning against your door frame.

"i wanted to make sure you were okay" he says slowly approaching you

you think to yourself whether or not you should open up to him and tell him what your thinking about. he sits down next to you on your bed.

"yeah, yeah i'm okay" you keep your eyes on the cat not wanting to make eye contact.

"i know your worried, but don't be. okay?" he says.

"i know. i just— i always get nervous about missions. but both of them going? what if something happens and i loose both of them. at once." you say to him, deciding to let yourself open up.

"i know kiddo. but your parents are badasses and they know how to take care of themselves." he says with a slight smile to lighten the mood.

a small smile appears on your face as you continue to look down at the cat in your lap.

"i'm really scared" you say

"i know. you're allowed to be scared. but just know that if i had any doubt in them, i would tell you. if i thought that they would be putting themselves at risk by going on this mission i would let you know." he says

you try to calm your thought about your parents by listening to bucky's words. you let go of alpine so she can get up. she stands and walks around you to the other side of bucky.

"where are you going girl?" he says quietly to the cat

"ya know, sometimes it's way easier to talk to you. like instead of going to mom or dad."

"it's what i'm here for. you know you can always tell me anything and i'll listen"

"yeah, i know. thanks uncle buck"

"always kid" he wraps his arms around you engulfing you into a warm hug. you can feel alpine cuddle up next to you and bucky. you feel safe in his arms finally letting go some of the worry you have about your parents mission.
