I'm a wanderess
I'm a one night stand
Don't belong to no city
Don't belong to no man
I'm the violence in the pouring rain
I'm a hurricane

"There's a lady outside, waiting for you. I think she might slash your tyres."

"Roy, I'm not going to slash your tyres, I swear."

Addison Fleming was constantly running.

Always running from her problems instead of dealing with them.

Which is why she found herself moving across the world twice inside four years. Running away from her problems in London to America all those years ago, and now it was vice-versa, LA to London. But still running. Truthfully, Addison was abandoning what remained of her life in LA to return to the life she'd ran away from in London years ago.

Addison was more than familiar with running when things got too much. It was far too familiar to her, it was like an old friend.

Addy booked this one way flight back to London as she was emotionally and mentally unable to stay in America without the constant reminder as to why she was running away. She hoped that her old London problems weren't waiting to reappear the moment she stepped back into the city.

Give her a few weeks at least.

That's all Addy wanted, just a few peaceful weeks before dealing with the problems she had left behind years ago.

Addy readjusted the cord for her headphones for what felt like the fiftieth time since she stood up from her uncomfortable airplane seat, far too small for anyone to get somewhat comfortable for the length of time they were squashed into the plane for.

She moved incredibly slowly along the plane's small walkway, throwing her head back in annoyance each time the queue stopped.

"Fuck," She muttered under her breath as her oversized handbag got caught on the seat behind her.

Just over twenty hours ago when she'd started this agonising travel day, she'd half laughed and silently half praised the borderline sexist societal standard that ensured that she was allowed another piece of hand luggage for free, just so long as it was considered just small enough to be a handbag.

But at this current second, she was definitely cursing it, as the bag tried to choke her half to death.

In her struggle, the woman behind Addison freed her, she was too embarrassed to turn around to face her savour, so the young woman just muttered her thanks, hoping that they'd be heard.

Addy adjusted all of her bag straps for one final time, ensuring that each bag was somewhat securely on her back, as she tried her hardest to ignore the pain from the weight resting on her shoulders. She stepped off the plane and into the next queue.

Her life had been a series of waiting games for the past few weeks. Just biding time until this moment, while in a flood of tears. Crying until she either fell asleep or until the headache got bad enough.
