The Hilton Yaounde hotel was amazing!

Sebina could only stare in wonder as Bert turned to her in the car. He smiled softly at her amazed expression.

They had just been transported from the airport some time back and even though they were tired, the sights were good to see, reminding Sebina of back home. So far, she was glad that she had accepted Bert's offer to come.

"Before we get out," Bert said, "here." He pulled a beautiful silver ring with a small very shiny diamond from his pocket. "Remember what we came here for."

She took the ring from him and fit it on her finger.

She almost vomited at the sight.

Not that the ring was horrible. It was the memories that came rushing to her head. Her own engagement to her ex-fiance. She quickly ripped the ring off of her finger, trying to steady her breathing as her chest quickly rose up and down.

"Do you not like the ring?" Bert asked with concern. "We'll get you a new one but for now you've got to wear that one."

She looked at him. "In as much as it looks expensive, how about I not wear it because you're not wearing one? We could just tell your associates that I misplaced it and you're looking for a new one."

"And you call me the liar."

"Shut up," she said as she opened the door and got out of the car.

Bert came around to her side and took her hand in his, immediately getting into the role of someone recently engaged and still very much attracted to his fiance...the attraction part didn't need much acting because he was indeed still very much attracted to Sebina.

When she had left him, he had not given her space because he knew he had messed up but he was trying to make up for his mistake of sleeping with that woman Sameera at his office.

Sebina had moered (beat) him so bad his body was literally stiff where the stick had made contact and he could barely move without feeling pain as he shuffled to the bathroom to ease his muscles. He had gone back to bed immediately after and rested till he felt better before he started attempting to woo her back with gifts. She accepted his gifts but she never bothered to hit him up or talk to him after taking the gifts. She most definitely was not like the other girls even though she was slightly younger than the youngest woman he had previously dated.

Independent women don't take shit from any man, he had remembered an old friend saying and now,he had seen that for himself. Sebina had not even let him explain because what was there to explain? She had simply taken her belongings and taken herself out of his life.

That was the sexiest thing any woman had ever done-havimg the backbone to actually leave and Bert had fallen even more for her.

It had hurt him that she never even looked his way after the incident and that she had blocked him on every social media platform as well as barred him from her emails. She had literally erased their relationship from her life and the only time he got to talk to her was through the monthly meetings they had to have as stated in the contract. Other than that, she had ceased all manner of contact with her and eventually, he realised that she was really serious when she said she wasn't about to take shit from him.

He had stopped trying to get her back against the protest of his heart and mind. When he had heard that she had moved on with his employee, a mere driver at that, he had been appalled and had attempted to confirm if the rumors were true but Sebina and Faizal acted like normal colleagues at work. He had been tempted to fire Faizal but he had absolutely no grounds to fire the young man and so he had resorted to spying.

Until that day that he found them going hard at it in the Rolls Royce that they were supposed to be fixing. That was when he learned to just simply move on and mind his business. Even though deep down, he wanted Sebina to end up back in his arms again.

Then came the Cameroon deal and he had seen an opportunity and grabbed it. In as much as Sebina was literally here to make him rich by assisting with manipulating the redhead to give the contract to Bert, he could not help the feelings he got at the thought of having Sebina with him alone for a whole week.

Something was obviously meant to happen this week. And he was crossing his fingers for it.

.

It was a few days since the two arrived and everything here was just perfect because it looked like Bert had spared no expense!

Sebina couldn't help but turn to him with an appreciative smile. It had been a while since she had experienced the finer things in life and Bert was making her feel nostalgic.

After rest and some cleaning up in the evening, she pulled on her jeans and a skin tight turtleneck shirt that accentuated her body. Her painted toes stuck out of her open toe block heels that winded around her ankle. As she looked in the mirror, she smiled, fixing her curly wig that was in a half bun up do.

The bedroom door opened and Bert walked in, sweaty and panting, looking like he had just come from the gym.

Sebina glanced at him. He was openly staring at her.

"You look beautiful," he panted.

"Thank you. Is this wifey enough?" she asked, slipping the ring Bert had given her on.

"I wish this..." he gestured to her. "was all mine."

"Too bad."

Bert smiled. "One day," he mumbled to himself, walking to the bathroom.

When he came out, he found Sebina seated on the bed, staring at her ring with curiosity. "It suits you," he said.

She looked up at him and smiled a little. "I picked out something for you to wear." She handed him a pair of blue jeans and a black t-shirt with some customized sneakers and secret socks.

He grinned before disappearing into the bathroom again. When he came out, he looked fresh, his salt and pepper hair and beard neatly trimmed and brushed. And his cologne...he smelled absolutely lick worthy!

Sebina grinned. "Look at you, silver fox."

Bert confidently turned around for her to admire before glancing at her. For the first time since she left, she was giving him a genuine smile, the same smile she had always given him before the cheating. He immediately promised himself that he was going to do whatever it took to be in her good books again.

Checking his watch, he grabbed the black blazer laid out on the bed for him and put it on before walking out with Sebina on his arm.
