The blue is sadness, red is anger, lighter coloring on his face is fear/pain.
More backstory:
Mamba panted, his breathing heavy. He looked down at the ocean and it's grayish-blue color. He sighed, looking back towards the land ahead of him.
"Oh Brine," he murmured. "What have you done?" Mamba looked down at his reflection. He had never been good at hiding his emotion on his scales, so parts of his face were a mix of blue, sadness, red, anger, and white, a mix of fear that he will be caught and pain that his friend would do this to him.
