Dear diary,
My name is Maddie Log. I'm on my way to my mothers house in California. My parents split up when i was little. It's always been hard, but my dad always told me to keep my head up high and not show people how much everything actually hurts. It's super hard. I always feel that if I let anyone in my life we'll just split up and I have this feeling that i can't take any chances. Everything hurts. I'm just glad i'll be able to surf in Cali. I have always had this connection with the water. It's calming and i feel like the ocean would never want to split up either. I love the waves and how the salt water gives me those beach curls, and I always get the best tan ever. I have this feeling in my gut that this summer will be great! My mom said that she has her best friends son staying at her house while i'm there so I can meet some new people. I'm glad she's trying to help, but at the same time, it's annoying how she's trying to help me and how she gives me pity. We'll see what happens this summer I guess!
