Noah stopped his yahama motorbike while I climbed down. He took of his helmet hand helped me with mine. I adjusted my hair and looked around. Its was really cold and dark, I felt a little nervous. It was a beautiful story building that had fountain showering in the middle of it. I looked around, amazed.
"Let's go in." Noah broke the silence, but I just stood there gazing around.
"Is anything the problem?"
"I'm just not sure if this is the right thing to do. I mean... I've never spent the night outside ever since I packed in with my un..cle. T... his might literally drive him crazy."
"That's no big deal, you'll be okay. Just tell him what happened. He's your uncle after all. He would understand."
"You don't seem to understand. My uncle is worse, compared to Ben. He'd beat me up and do terrible things to me. Please, just take me back." I begged.
He chuckled at me, as if I was overreacting. Stop being so immature now, I know you're scared of sleeping with me." Noah opened the front door to the building and got in.
'Omg! What am I going to do now. I can't even trek or take a taxi.' I turned to the direction of the door abd rushed in, realizing how big and silent the whole compound was.
It was a beautiful house. It reminded me of what my parents house used to be like.
Noah walked upstairs and I followed him quietly like puppet. He opened a door at the left corner. It was dark inside so he switched on the bulb and turned to me. For a moment, I felt scared. I couldn't think. I closed my eyes and let of an heavy sigh.
He watched me and smiled.
"Stop acting funny now. Come in." I took a step forward and stopped. He pulled me in and closed the door.
"There's nothing to be scared of. It's only the two of us here."
"What about your parents?"
He threw his keys on the shelf beside his bed and turned to me. They're umm... Gone.
"Gone where?"
"Where ever they want to, I guess. My parents don't stay at home, Sylvie. And whenever they do, it's like hell here. But right now, my mum is probably out with her girls or with a man to satisfy herself. My dad on the other hand stays in school sometimes. Other times, he's with his elder brother who's also a divorcee."
He walked to the wardrobe and took off his shirt. I looked away, trying not to gaze at him. It was weird.
Noah scrolled through his hanged clothes and took some.
"Change into this. They are my clothes." He handed a white t-shirt and a black short to me, still shirtless.
I looked at him with appreciation.
"This is my room, I'm sure you have no problem in sharing it with me. Or... Would you like to stay in the guest room?"
"No... It's fine here." I stammered.
"Good. So, sleep here tonight. And you can take my bed. I'll sleep on the floor."
"Ummm... Thank you." I said to him while he put on his shirt.
"You can take a shower in my bathroom if you want to. I'll grab a drink downstairs and join you shortly."
He walked out while I went to take a shower. I walked into his bathroom. It was the twice the size of my room. It looked neat and clean, I felt lost while staring at my reflection on the full mirror on the wall.
