NOBODY KNOWS THE TRUE ORIGIN OF GOING COLD TURKEY, some people say it stemmed from the fact that using cold Turkey pieces caused little to no preparation like abruptly quitting a routine; other say that it derives from the similarities between drug addict going through withdrawal and a dead turkey - "both can be clammy, pale and covered in goosebumps" but nobody truly knows. It can also just be an interesting phrase that someone came up with so the actual act of "going cold turkey" or "quitting cold turkey" sounds less scary than it actually is.
