I am the next Ladybug?!

Chapter 17- Adrien's (as Chat Noir) POV

"You're here," Viperion said nonchalantly when I jumped in front of him.

"Yes, I am. Now be quick and tell me, who gave you the miraculous?" I growled at him, "We didn't need your help for the mission."

"The previous Ladybug gave me the miraculous." He replied.

Ladybug? Had she transformed using the Dragon Miraculous again?

"Did she think we couldn't handle the situation on our own?" I asked, scoffing. 

"I was not here for the akuma, I was here for this," He said, holding out four miraculous boxes.

"What the- Why do you have so many miraculouses?"I asked,wide-eyed.

"She gave me these to give you."

"Why you? Why didn't she come herself?" I asked, still salty that she went to him rather than me.

"She was- uh- not able to," He replied, vaguely.

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. "Is she not well?" I asked, worried.

"No. Tired," he corrected.

"But why did she transform in the middle of the akuma if she was tired! She should rest!" 

He paused a bit, seeming unsure of what to say.

"I will tell her to not to," he replied, finally.

I breathed out. I felt as if he was not telling me everything, but knowing him, he will not give it up anyways.

"What are these for?" I asked, changing the subject.

"For you to use, in case of emergencies."

"What about littlebug? What if she is in trouble?" 

"Huh? Who?" Viperion asked, confused.

"...the new Ladybug," I said, mentally facepalming myself. Of course he doesn't know my nickname for her.

I heard him chuckle. "Already on giving nicknames, huh? How long has it been since you met?"

"It is my thing," I said defensively.

"I know it is," he said, nodding before shooting me a glare, "Don't think I forgot what you said my sister."

I gulped as I remembered calling Juleka my family. Of course, her brother didn't take it as pleasantly I had meant it.

I looked away from him. 

"Uh- so Littlebug, what about her?"

He sighed before answering, "I don't know, Ladybug doesn't trust her so she told me to give these to you."

I snapped my neck back towards him. "I trust her and so does Ladybug's kwami. She should trust our word on it," I huffed.

"I know, but its a bit... complicated."

"Ladybug and I were equals, right? And she gave away miraculouses with her trust when she was Ladybug. So I want  to give Littlebug one of the miraculouses, just in case." I argued. It wasn't about what she trusts in or not. At least one of us knew the identity of Master Fu and where he lived the last time, so getting extra help in case of emergencies was never a problem. But right now neither me or Littlebug knows the identity of the Guardian. Shadowmoth could use this weak link between us. And Littlebug is trustworthy, I know it for a fact. 

Viperion hummed, amused.

"I will like to talk to her myself to see how she is for you to trust her so much this quick," he said, smiling, "You can have the bee, fox and turtle miraculous. You know their identities so it won't be a problem. She can have the rabbit miraculous; it doesn't have an owner yet and it can be used to solve almost any kind of problem."

"You are going to tell Ladybug," I asked, skeptical about his improvisation.

"I'll tell her when she will be open to listening about it," he said.

"Oh, so you are close enough to her to meet her anytime you want?" I asked half-jokingly.

"She is teaching me to become the next guardian," he replied simply.

"I know that, but can't you be more-"

"Hey, I am here," Little bug announced, landing on the rooftop with a light 'thud'.

"Oh! You are just in time. These are for you," Viperion said, turning to her and handing her the rabbit miraculous. I guess he had believed in my judgement.

"What! But this is... a miraculous!" She said, surprised.

"Yes, this is the rabbit miraculous. When you think things are beyond repair, give this miraculous to some you trust. This hold the power to time travel. It will help you in a clutch," he said, explaining her the miraculous in short.

"But, but Ladybug said she does not trust me with the-"

"Don't worry about that. She is just adjusting to the changes. This miraculous should be used only in case of emergencies. I have given the bee, turtle and fox miraculous to Chat Noir. They can be used whenever you need some extra push. That way both of you are powerful enough to turn the table when conditions our unfavorable," Vipereon said to reassured.

"Thanks," she said nervously, taking the miraculous box from his hand.

"Don't worry, you will be fine," I said, putting my hand on her shoulder, to make her feel more confident in herself, "I will get going now. I can't carry these three boxes in my hands like this."

She laughed at me and I smiled inwardly, seeing that she was fine.

"Okay, I will get going too," she said quickly.

"No wait!" I said, "Why don't you two hang out a bit before you go? Get to know each other, we will be working together, right?"

This should be a perfect idea. Viperion wanted to talk to her and get to know her and she is his big fan. I will kill two birds with one stone. I gave myself an imaginary pat on the back. She should thank me for this later.

She pointed at herself and then at Viperion, "Who we?" she asked, surprised.

"Yeah, why not!" I said, cheerily before lowering down to her ear and saying in a low voice, "Plus, someone told me you are a big fan of him."

She froze for a second before turning back, looking at me angrily.

I giggled at  how cute she was looking. Her faced was flushed, probably because I said this in front of the person she was a fan of.

"What are you doing?" She seethed at me.

"He is still here," I smirked reminding her of Viperion's presence.

She instantly turned back to see Viperion looking at us curiously. She smiled at him awkwardly.

"So I'll be going then, bye!" I said, taking this opportunity to run away.

"No! Stop!" I heard her say but she was too late. I smiled smugly. I will have her treat me for this, I thought as I happily made my  way back home.

**I know Chat Noir doesn't seem to be catching any feelings, YET. That is because he will fall first for one of his classmates. I know some of you might think that 'Oh know, it is a love square again' but here me out. It will be that way but only for a teeny weeny amount of time, I swear. So yeah, wait for it.

**P.S I am not so sure about my upload schedule because so many academic things are going to be coming my way soon. I will try my best to upload whenever I can, so wish me all the best, I guess?
