HMHS Britannic was originally an ocean liner but people nowadayscall Britannic a Hospital ship. This is because during the first worldwar HMHS Britannic had a refit to become a hospital ship. Thevessel will transport wounded soldiers from one place to another.After completing five successful voyages to the theatre of war andback to England transporting countless of ill and wounded soldiersand others. On the 12th November 1916 at 02.23pm Britannicdeparted Southampton for Lemnos. This Is her sixth voyage. Lateron having a close encounter with a torpedo. During her travelsBritannic would have stopped at Naples for a refill of food and coal.November 21st reached and Britannic hit a mine at 8:12am causingher to sink. Only 30 souls were lost in the sinking. The ship took 55minutes to sink. Britannic now lies 390 feet beneath the waves layingon her starboard side in the Aegean Sea.
