Alone

1- Prologue

The sound of rain and thunder roared in my ears as I ran through the woods. Despite being heavily injured I kept going at full speed, with Alluka still clinging to my back.
Everything hurt and I was loosing too much blood. The fact that I'm still running's a miracle.
After a few minutes my movements started to get sloppy, and my vision blurred. No! I have to keep moving! I need to get Alluka somewhere safe!

Suddenly pain shoot trough my left ankle, and I fell. Throwing Alluka off my back in the process.
I looked at my injured leg and saw a yellow needle stuck into my flesh.
Their brother had finally caught up, and he was oozing bloodlust.
In a hurry I forced myself up in a sitting position, grabbed Allukas shoulders and looked her in the eyes.
"Alluka listen to me. You have to run! I'll hold him back as long as I can. So please just get out of here !"
The look in Allukas eyes was heartbreaking. She looked terrified and was silently crying.
She shook her head furiously, and was about to answer when she suddenly froze.
Alluka looked completely petrified, her wide eyes locked on something behind them.

"Kill~ Give it up already. Take that thing with you and come home" Illumis flat voice suddenly rang in between the trees. For a second I froze too, but that didn't last long . Alarmed I got back up on my feet ready to fight. My fighting stance was poor, but I'd do anything to protect my sister. Even die.
One thing I knew was that I'd never let my family lock her up in the basement ever again.

"You don't have to do this kill~ If I have to beat you half to death to get you home I will. Besides, who's to say I won't kill that thing over there once you're out cold?"

"Shut up! If you as much as touch her I'll kill you!" With that I charged at Illumi in rage.

"B-Big-brother no!!" In the last second Alluka slammed herself into me, and we both fell off a small cliff and started rolling down at full speed.

When we hit the bottom of the slope I took most of the impact as we crashed into a tree. I hugged my sisters protectively, and Nanikas hollow black eyes met mine. At first I was confused as to why Nanika decided to come out now of all times. But then.....

"Killua, I love you" her beetle eyes started to tear up, but before she could start crying I cut her off.

"I love you too Nanika, But Illumi will be here any second now. We have to hurry!"

As I attempted to lift her up and run for it, she  pushed me back down against the tree trunk.
"Nanika, what are you doing!?"
"No Killua. At this rate you'll die! You shouldn't have to suffer for us like this anymore!"

Wh- Nanika! What are y-?!"
Before I could say anything else a bright light blinded me, and all of a sudden I felt like I was falling. I couldn't feel Alluka and Nanika in my arms anymore and panic started to build up inside me. But as I struggled to reach my sisters, I blacked out.

Hello ! So this is my second hxh fanfiction, I hope it's not too bad 🤗 the plan forward is to post 2 or 3 chapters in one go every time I update. So that you won't have to wait like forever on only one chapter😉
