Challenge Prompt: Write a Lukadrien version of the story of "Eros and Psyche"

Note: This was a prompt I was challenged to do months ago, but I was debating on sharing it. But I thought, why not? I hope you enjoy it. Sorry if it's short, but I only had but so much time with this one.

================================================================================

Long ago on earth, there were mysterious and adventurous lands ruled by the gods below and above. Lands which were ruled by both peace and war. Conquered and built, kingdoms reigned supreme over the earth. But none were more prosperous than the Kingdom of the Agreste.

A beautiful night was blessed below the prosperous kingdom of France, the moon at its fullest and the stars shining bright amongst the cloudless skies. The kingdom was in celebration with golden lights illuminating the grand castle.

There was much joy to behold as a festive grand ball was held today for the kingdom to celebrate a marriage of the gods... and a new deity being born.

King Gabriel and Queen Emilie watched as the ballroom was lit up with excitement as they were given one of the highest honors to occur. Two of their children, Prince Felix and Princess Chloe could only watch with neutral looks while withholding mixed feelings by looking towards the vacant throne in the center of the family...

... and to the new statue in the center of the ballroom of two males dressed elegantly in embrace. The royal sculptor, Theo, was praised in his work of capturing the emotion of the new gods.

King Gabriel swelled with pride though held a glint of sadness in his eyes when he gazed on one of the male faces of the statues. Deep in his heart he felt pride but also longing while wondering if HE was truly happy in his new home.

Queen Emily next to him had a saddening glance as she saw the forlorn look on her husband's face. Gently she took his hand in comfort, causing him to turn to her before giving a soft smile. If there was anyone who would understand, it would be his radiant queen.

The moment would be interrupted as a woman approached the king and queen with children behind her all giving pleading looks but respectful bows all the same. The woman was Madame Caline Bustier, a local teacher who taught one of the highest schools within the kingdom. She had come to honor the family of their celebration but requested on behalf of the children to hear 'The Tale of True Love' from the source.

"Forgive me if it is too much to ask for..." Mlle. Bustier apologized but was stopped by the hand of the king whose stoic stare softened in thought before turning to the statue once more.

"Do not. I believe that this is something we should share with our generation." Gabriel answered with a nod. Emilie smiled at her husband's decision and also gave her consent, much to the delight of the children. The royals then instructed the group to follow them in their reading chamber with Grand Duchess Nathalie to guide them.

Prince Felix and Princess Chole, however, remained behind as they waited for their spouses to arrive, though Queen Emilie was sure she had seen a look crossed with guilt and shame while departing the grand ballroom.

In little time, the royals entered their private reading room with the children in tow marveling in such a decorative sight. Mlle. Bustier then guided her children to listen carefully to the King and Queen and follow their orders as they told of the story.

With a clear throat, Queen Emilie began to spin the tale...

"Once upon a time..."

"In the beginning, there was only silence until our world was brought to be by the miraculous gods. The gods were said to have traveled from one world to the next until they've finally made a home onto one: Our world. Through time, the world began to see peace and war, creation and destruction..."
