The first thing I noticed when I got in the car was Brady was in the front seat. Penelope was sitting with her arms crossed and her eyes red.

"Nel have you been crying?" I asked in disbelief. My sister never cried unless there was an absolute reason for her too.

"Don't worry about it James," she sniffled.

Brady turned around and started to say something but decided not too.

"What's gotten into you two?" Jeremiah questioned.

"Ask Brady's new girlfriend," Penelope spat out.

"She's not my girlfriend Nel. Besides you're the one who had guys all over you all day."

"Stop guys," Jeremiah groaned. "You know you can't date a human. Not right now at least. So the both of you need to make up at least. James, Marie, how was your day?"

"Good! I made friends," Marie piped up.

"I did too."

"Great. No issues I assume?"

"Nope."

"Jeremiah is it okay if I hang out with friends tomorrow?" Penelope asked earnestly.

"I guess that's fine. Just be careful."

"I will thanks."

Penelope was going to a party? She never seemed interested in those things before. Had school changed her this fast? Or was she doing this because of Brady?

"Can James and I go to,"

"Yea you may go to Disneyland Marie. Brady do you mind chaperoning?"

"Sure.."

"I can take care of Marie and myself," I protested.

Jeremiah thought about it and nodded, "Okay. James you can take Marie to Disneyland. Make sure to call if you get in trouble."

"Yes sir." Finally someone trusted me enough to give me responsibility. I was old enough to handle Marie. She wasn't five, meaning I wouldn't have to chase her everywhere.

We got to the house and Penelope walked straight to her room with Brady following.

"Is Penelope going to yell at him?" Marie whispered.

"Maybe, we'll be able to hear it if she does."

"I'm going to my room then just in case this turns into world war three."
