Steve had packed his bags, and kissed Alex goodbye.
Even though he would only be gone for a couple days at most, Alex was still worried.
What if he died? What if he got kidnapped? What if he just didn't return on purpose?
Steve was walking along the long dirt path Alex and him made a long time ago. It leads to the village, where there are normally grown crops he could harvest and cows to kill for steak.
Steve decided that it was best to just go home as soon as possible instead of staying at the village for the night.
That might have been the worst mistake of his life.
When Steve was walking along the path, it was starting to get dark. The sun was going down, and soon the road was pitch black.
Steve started to panic, as he knew the mobs would come soon after.
Would he even make it home?
