A young girl was walking in the middle of nowhere, with a journal in her hand which had a pen tucked on it
A smile crept onto the girl's face when she realized her destination wasn't far away from where she was at the moment, she couldn't wait to sit somewhere alone and maybe write something in her journal!
But soon, her facial expression changed from a happy little butterfly to a sad, lonely one, as tears started to form in her eyes
The girl knew she needed to do something to calm herself down as soon as possible, she couldn't let anyone see her like this, her fingernails quickly found a way onto her palm's skin, as she clenched her fists rather tightly, making her nails go deeper into her flesh, a lil amount of blood drawing out of it
"Hey (Y/N)!" She heard a familiar voice yell, causing her to whip her attention towards the place from where the voice came from, her facial expressions quickly changed from a sad one to a happy one when she saw it was
"Hello Tanjiro-Kun, may I ask what you are doing here?" the (h/C) asked, passing the young boy a closed eye smile when he approached her
"Oh, I was just in our secret garden, you know, I didn't know you were heading there as well, if I knew about it sooner, then I probably would have gone there with you" The redhead chuckled softly, earning a smile from the girl whose nails were secretly dugged onto her skin at the point, keeping her from crying
She felt like she deserved it, so the pain probably didn't matter
She slowly watched as Tanjiro's expression turned from a happy to a confused one, rather quickly "(y/n)...You don't have to fake a smile in front of me" he stated, holding onto (y/n)s hand in his, and looking her into her beautiful (e/c) eyes
He swore he could feel his cheeks heat up when gazed into her beautiful eyes, they were the prettiest pair of eyes he has ever seen in his entire existence
How could someone be so beautiful?
"What do you mean by 'fake a smile' Tanjiro-Kun?" (y/n) asked, quietly, pulling Tanjiro out from his trance like state, as a small smile formed on his lips
"You see, I have a keen sense of smell, and I kind of can smell people's emotion too, and uh, I Smell sadness and guilt from you then....Why are you always smiling (y/n) (l/n)?" He asked, before passing a gentle smile the girl's way
That was it, she couldn't hold onto herself anymore, as more tears started forming in her eyes, she quickly buried her face into the young boy's chest, clinging onto him like her life depend on it, while sobbing her feelings out
Tanjiro's hands immediately found his way to (y/n)'s waist, snaking them, while his other hand stroked the young girl's hair "shhhhh it's okay, it's gonna be okay" he kept on murmuring, hoping it would help in calming the girl down
He didn't care if her tears would wet down his clothes, all he knew was, he needed to be there for the girl
It broke his heart to watch someone he cared do deeply about, crying but he couldn't do anything about it, except comforting her
