"youn miss a nigga" said a notification on my phone
it was from an unknown number
i already had 3 names in my head of who it could be, trying to keep my peace i deleted the message
"what if it was Toosii" i thought to myself .. prolly not
harper girl yo ass ready ??
"oh shit" i said. i forgot i was supposed to be having a girls day with Harper i can't cancel, we haven't done this in so long
"incoming call from "harper" my phone said aloud to me
"fuck" i thought as i ran to get in the shower
bang bang bang !
startled as i jumped out of my shower, rushing to wrap my towel around me the banging on my door continued
as i already knew it was .. Harper
she was beyond frustrated with me. "girl what the fuck ?" she asked bucking at me. "we supposed to have been gone a while ago and you in a fucking towel ????" she continued
"i woke up late Harp, i was up all night trying to write. my bad" i said lowly
Harper looked away from me. pacing around my living room she then sat on the couch
"it's okay Mour. i just haven't seen you in a while that's it." she said as her tone grew more subtle
"we don't even have to spend money" i said adjusting my towel. "we can paint, and cook, and all the other things you want to do"
she smiled. i felt bad for letting her down, i didn't want to keep pushing dates back for quality time with the person who needs me the most the moment
i just, i just wanted you wanted, wanted you to love me but trust me put nothing above me just put your heart in my hands...
we sang our hearts out as we painted
this was better than going out, no one in our way, no rules, just me and my best friend
after painting, we ordered pizza and watched "Love Jones" in the living room as we waited
"so you talked to that rapper?" Harper asked
"nope." i looked back at the tv
"girllll it's not even about the money, what if y'all are soulmatessss" she said excitingly
i looked at her "who said it was about money" i asked sarcastically
"text him or i'll text him for you" Harper said as she grabbed my phone
"that's crazy cause i don't even have his number" i said
"so how y'all was texting" she handed me my phone back
