After the Storm

Fuyu's POV

After a week of going around the base to collect my mom's stories from the other members time to get to the original members, as well as the crane sisters. I purposely missed them since I know they knew her best, how I arrived at this conclusion simply, Shokaku had kept my mom's things means that the two of them must be really close to her.

I started this one off by going for the two Fletchers, according to the other Fletchers they're in Sullivan's room playing games, I knocked on the door.

???: "Coming." The figure on the other side opens the door.

Sullivans: "Oh Iwo Jima, what brings you here?"

Fuyu: "Well I want to document stories about the old Iwo Jima, mind if I come in?"

Sullivans: "Yeah." I walk into the room finding Kidd, Haida, and Błyskawica playing Battlefield 1 in one corner and Sullivans in another. "Kidd, we got something to do."

Kidd: "Huh, a mission isn't the war already over?"

Sullivans: "No it's not that, we're going to tell the new Iwo Jima about our leader."

Kidd: "Oh, gimme a sec to exit our current session." She exits the current session for both. "So, what do you want to know?"

Fuyu: "About my predecessor, and your relationship with her."

Sullivans: "That's easy, plus you'll be documenting it right?" I nod my head. "All right." With that, I began the recording.

Kidd: "When we were assigned to her, I think all those present at the time were suspicious of her given she was half Sakura Empire and half Eagle Union but after what happened to her during the infiltration mission, we had no doubts about her."

Sullivans: "Yep from the day our formation was put together we served her till the end, that covers both me and Kidd."

Haida: "Now I'll begin both mine and Błyskawica's story for us hearing that she ain't coming home was saddening because we were both by her side from the infiltration mission right till the end."

Błyskawica: "Yes, we both remember that time when she allowed herself to be captured for our escape. Haida cried her heart out because she abandoned her."

Haida: "Stop that."

Błyskawica: "It's true though but that isn't to say I didn't either, I know for a fact that she has a heart of Poland."

Fuyu: "That being?"

Błyskawica: "Well, a heart that wouldn't give up until the end even when there's no hope."

Haida: "True, and since we've vowed ourselves to always protect her. We failed not only once but a total of 3 times. The first one was what we mentioned earlier, the second was when she zoned out, and finally before her death."

Błyskawica: "Yeah but knowing her she'd put others before herself, I guess this was to be expected." I stopped the recording.

Fuyu: "Now with that done let's go and play, it's no good to always keep ourselves in a bad mood."

Kidd: "Yup, c'mon let's not waste any more time." I nod my head and sit down we played the rest of the day away.

Sorry if this was shorter than usual, but I've decided once again to cut on chapter numbers and quality but with me going megalomania with 'Samurai of the Eagle Union' making sure that it has quality and quantity, the latter more I've decided to focus there.

The thing is I've got lots of time on my hands since I decided to release on 8th August 2022, but I need to make sure it's at its best before release while having as many chapters as I can afford. My next release for that book is on 18th April 2022, it's also a hint to one of the characters who'll make her appearance.
