Kaoru x Reader

Medical Prince

Hey this is another oneshot, this one originally written for myself. I wrote this in encouragement of my friend who noticed I write oneshots for my friends all the time but never for myself. So this is that one for myself. Oh for those of you who don't know, Kaoru is Syo's twin whom is studying to become a doctor at a sister school of Saotome Academy. I don't think I need anymore background than that so enjoy my oneshot.

Of all the things you focused on, popular idols were not one of them. But honestly when one is studying to be a doctor, who would focus on that. The talk of the school was an idol group called ST🌟RISH but it didn't concern you. After all, you had your own prince right there, Kaoru Kurusu.

"(Y/N)-san, can you look after the library for me after school?" The librarian asked you at lunch. You always spend your lunches in the library to study.

"Sure thing." You say merrily since you had nothing better to do. Ever since you came to this school, the library has been a second home. On the other hand, your dorm room was just a place to sleep in after you had finished studying.

~Time Skip~

After your last class let out, you quickly gather your books and head to the library. You already knew how to check in and out books since you were here so often.

When you got there, someone was already seated at the desk. "What are you doing?" You asked the mystery person, unaware that it was your prince.

"Helping fill in for the librarian," the person says and looks at you. It was your prince, you could now see that.

"Oh I didn't know it was you, Kaoru." You said, feeling completely dumb. His eyes widen at his name being said.

"You know my name?" He asks you, surprised.

"Why wouldn't I? We are in the same class." You say honestly, leaving out the part of your crush on him.

"No, it's just that I'm used to being known as Syo's twin." Kaoru says looking down at the textbook that sat in front of him.

You join him behind the desk and settle into the chair next to him. As you get out your own work, you ask, "why would you be known as Syo's twin? Your twin doesn't even go to this school, right?"

He chuckles, "no he isn't at this school but that doesn't make him any less popular."

You spun your mechanical pencil on your hand as you began to look at the assignment you needed to get done. After several minutes, you look up as if remembering you were in a conversation. "Oops, sorry, my bad. I kinda get lost in doing my assignments. We were talking about your twin, correct?"

He laughs quietly this time and it was music to your ears. "Yeah, we were. I'm sorry for laughing but that was kinda funny." Your quiet laughter joined his and it took a while to stop completely. "I guess you don't know this but my twin is part of the popular idol group ST🌟RISH."

You look at him, somewhat puzzled. "ST🌟RISH? I haven't heard of them, are they a new idol group?"

"Are you serious? I thought every girl knew and loved ST🌟RISH." Kaoru asked in true amazement.

"I guess I'm not every girl then," You replied with a smirk. "But seriously, I haven't had time for those kinds of things here. I'm here to become a doctor, and that's what I intend to do."

Kaoru chuckles, "that's amazing, (Y/N)." He then goes back to his work in front of him.

You look at your assignment once more to work. Before you start, you had one last thought about the conversation with Kaoru. 'He knows my name?'

~Time Skip~

After that afternoon in the library, you and Kaoru began to hang out more and you even decided to be partners for the next project. All the while, the popularity of ST🌟RISH continued to rise on campus.

The two of you were working together in the library. You were currently in the middle of discussing your plans for the project when Kaoru felt a tap on the shoulder.

When he turned, he saw a couple girls standing there. "Kaoru-kun, we were wondering if you could get us your brother's autograph?"

You look at them in disdain. "You do know that he's not your personal servant, don't you?"

Kaoru looks at you. "It's fine, (Y/N). Sure, ladies, I'll get it for you the next time I visit."

"It's not though," you reply, keeping your eyes on the girls.

"Listen bitch, I don't know who you think you are but you don't own Kaoru-kun," the main girl says to you.

"Neither do you, and for your information, I'm his girlfriend. I actually see Karou for who he is, unlike you who only knows that he is Syo's twin." You reply with venom. The girls were taken back but they retreated away without another word.

You remain silent after that, blushing a little and you look away from Kaoru.

"Do you really mean that?" Was all he asked you. You snapped your head around and looked him in the eyes now. You figured he would be mad at you for snapping at them or saying you were his girlfriend.

"Yeah, I mean I'd love it if I really was your girlfriend but I'm happy to be your friend. I have never once thought of you as Syo's twin, but as Kaoru." You say shyly, looking down.

"Probably because you didn't know who Syo was before you met me," he says smirking, teasing you a little.

"Shut up," you pout in reply.

"Well, (Y/N), I would be honored to have you as my girlfriend, if you allow it to be so." He smiles, looking at you. He felt his heart melt a little at the pout.

"Really?"

He doesn't answer right away, instead giving you a kiss. It was sweet and short but after it he says, "really."
