Gone?
Her mind took her to last night:
"I want you to know Eden, that if the world ended, I'd still be here."
You fucking liar.
She shook her head, and ran back upstairs. She put on her own clothes, because she didn't want to throw up on Ron's. Maybe she should do that.
She pulled her hair back and sat next to the toilet. How could she have anything to throw up? She hadn't had anything to eat in the last 36 hours. Maybe it was just water.
She splashed cold water on her face, and looked into the mirror. It was like she could still feel the kiss that was left there by Ron.
Eden used her hands to try and rub the feeling off of her face, the feeling of love.
She hated that word. She hated Ron.
"Are you, erm, okay?" Ginny Weasley asked. She tentatively stepped into the boys dorm.
Eden had never been friends with Ron's sister, but they were nice enough to each other.
"I saw you run up here after the news. You were close with my brother right? Do you know where he is?" She asked hopefully. Eden laughed bitterly.
"Doesn't it bother you that the whole time they were here this year, they kept us as ignorant as pigs going to the slaughterhouse?" She walked out of the open bathroom door and got on her clothes from yesterday.
"Why are your clothes on the floor-." Ginny asked, pointing to the ground, but Eden laughed sourly again.
"I didn't sleep with your brother. I slept next to him."
Ginny looked sad.
"You loved him didn't you."
"What good does that do us now? They're all gone." She said simply. Ginny sat down on Ron's bed.
"You know, he talked about you all the time. Even if he was saying some stupid thing, you always had to be in the conversation." She said quietly. Eden sat down next to her and sighed.
"It's usually not the best feeling when you spend a night together and the next morning they drop out of school." Ginny wrapped an arm around her shoulders and squeezed. Eden was not going to cry in front of Ginny, but the thought was tempting.
She had never loved someone before. This was a new feeling. A scary feeling.
"He's coming back, Eden. I know my brother. As selfish as he is stupid, he would never leave us to fend for ourselves right now. He cares. I know he does."
Eden didn't respond to this, because it seems as thought Ginny was reassuring herself more than she was Eden.
"Are you coming down to breakfast?" Ginny asked, changing the subject. Eden was grateful, because she didn't want to talk about Ron anymore.
Eden nodded, though she wasn't hungry. She stood up and smoothed out her shorts.
"Maybe I will. I'm going to go find my brother." She said promptly. She checked herself in the mirror before opening the door.
"You'll...be okay, right?" She turned around to see Ginny, wrapping her arms around herself.
"Yeah, o'course." She nodded.
Eden nodded, though unsure if she should leave or not. She waited for a couple more seconds before leaving.
She passed the group still crowded around the wailing Fat Lady and exited quietly. Tomorrow, she would move her stuff back into her own dorm, because she simply could not be reminded daily of the possibilities of "what if?"
