Panting, I carried on to the dreaded memorial site, where it was said that the most vampires come out at night, this was my first day on the job, so I got paired with another new recruit, Fan, a Chinese girl, apparently her name means "lethal." (Mem., I must ask Fan about Chinese name meanings.) When I finally did arrive, I was briefed on how I needed to decapitate the vampire first, then I could stab it in the heart with anything really, so I chose a broadsword, as it could slice off the head, then stab the heart.
"Hello, Jonathan, I presume?" who I assumed to be Fan asked.
"Yes, Fan, I presume?" I replied.
"You presumed correctly." she said.
Apparently, the Serbian experts on the job said that not only was the partnership of new trainees for convenience's sake, but also to ensure that at least one could return, and that we had to split the decapitation and stabbing, as it shall turn out, I was chosen for the stabbing, so I instead of a broadsword, chose my crossbow. (Mem., I must ask the "experts" about their strange customs.)
