Yeon-Jin p.o.v

"NAM-RA!!!"

'God damnit she forgot to wake me up!' I thought rushing out of the building,
A sigh passed my lips as I fall into step with Nam-ra, walking towards the school with my bag lazily slung over my shoulder
"You forgot to wake me up idiot" I grumbled stopping to pass her one of my airpods
"Stop breaking your alarm clocks and you wouldn't have to rely on me" she laughed slightly putting the airpod in
I pout knowing she was right, damn that's one thing I'm never going to say out loud

Grabbing Nam-ra's hand we started walking in silence just avoiding everyone else as we made our way to Ms Park's room on our way there we bumped into Mr Lee our science teacher he was looking slightly pale and mumbling about some hamster and a girl? We thought it was odd but Nam-ra said that it's probably nothing and to forget about it,

Luckily there wasn't that many people in the class when we got there so we were able to have a little quiet before class, we took our seats (which were conveniently next to each other thanks to Ms Park knowing how we don't like to be too far from each other) we got our books out ready for the lesson, Nam-ra started studying while I continued to read my favorite book that I started to reread (for like the 10th time) last night it's called 'The Song of Achilles' it's always been my favorite since we were little where Nam-ra favored Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet more I guess I could understand her love for it as it is a amazing piece of work but It could never be my favorite that place is always reserved for the greek gays

Soon the peace was disrupted as more people started to show up, I put my book away knowing I won't be able to read much more, As soon as I look up from my bag I see Su-Hyeok a ex bad boy turned good enter the classroom room
"You know you look creepy when you stare at him right?" Nam-ra whispered smirking
"Shut it nerd." I mumbled pushing her slightly
I look down at my desk embarrassed before slowly looking up meeting his eyes from across the room, he smiled at me before slightly turning towards cheong-san I could feel the heat rushing to my cheeks smiling shyly I look out the window getting rid of any emotion on my face hoping he didn't see anything

"Hey, you punks. Come on guys take your seats come on move" Ms Park said as she entered the room
Everyone got in their seats turning their attention to the front
"Hi good morning, time to hand in your phones" Ms Park said grabbing the box to put them in I grabbed mine and Nam-ra's phone's and handed them in before quickly sitting back down
"Who's in touch with Hyeon-ju? Nobody? So none of you have tried calling her today?"Ms Park asked as everyone sat back down
"Uh, we cleaned the science lab together yesterday, but I haven't seen her since"Joon-young explained pushing his glasses up
"Okay. If anyone hears from her some time the next few days, let me know right away, okay?" she sighs

"Exams start next week, so get your acts together." She says taking her phone out
Soon two phones went off making her smirk, Dae-su the boy sitting in front of me and Nam-ra turned trying to blame us for the phone
"One more time. Hand over your phones, please" she smiled holding her hands out
Dae-su and Isak stood up their friends laughing as they hand over there phones
"On-Jo this is your phone from last year take it please" Ms Park said before getting ready to start the lesson....

In Mr Lee's class

"A virus... is somewhere between a living organism and a non-living organism. Like a living organism, it adapts to its surroundings and evolves. Everything that evolves in this manner should be considered an independent living organism."

"Mr. Lee, the textbook says a virus is not an independent living organism."

"Whether or not it's categorized that way doesn't depend on its metabolism, but its will to survive. If it's will is so strong... The instinct to survive actually surpasses intelligence and eventually the ecosystem is dominated by that will. Humanity has never once completely defeated a virus. Leucochloridium paradoxum. This parasite's final destination is a bird. The parasite enters a snail and infects its ocular tentacles. That makes the snail put itself in the path of predatory birds. So the infected snail commits suicide at the whim of the parasite. Tell me. Now, is that because the snail is less intelligent? It's not. It's because the parasite's will to survive is much stronger than the snail's.
The evolving... and hereditary will to survive is...the sole standard by which living organisms are defined."

"So is the textbook wrong?"

"The textbook? It's wrong."

Ms Park's class

"In fact, none of us are completely free from prejudice. We all have preconceived ideas about others. Here, "free from" means the lacking in or unincumbered by. Anyone want to interpret this?" Ms Park asked tapping the board
A girl behind who looked horribly pale me stood up holding her stomach
"Okay. Hee-su."
"I need to use the bathroom"
"Okay go"
Hee-su wobbled out of the room while people whispered about her current condition
"Okay, then. Anyone wanna have a crack at it, huh? Class presidents?" Ms Park asked
"The truth is, all of us have some sort of prejudice."Nam-ra started
"We all have preconceptions about other people." I finished off
Ms Park hummed looking around the room seeing Su-Hyeok messing around not paying attention
" Hmm, okay. Nice. Next, Bare-su. Stand up. Stand up." She demanded amused
"Yes?" Su-Hyeok asked nervously
"What's with 'Bare-su'?"She asked leaning on her desk
Everyone laughed along as Ms Park finds out the origin of Su-Hyeok's nickname
"Okay, Bare-su. What did the twins say a minute ago?"Ms Park laughed
"They were absolutely correct. A hundred percent."he confidently answered glancing our way
"What was their absolutely correct answer then?"
Just as Su-Hyeok was about to answer a bloody Hyeon-ju appeared at the door
"He grabbed me..."
