Arman is the son of Kilgharrah, born to ruin and rule the world, and he did follow the plan his father laid out for him since he was born in the wretched caves... And failed his first mission. He saw a magnificent creature, a peasant girl in the village he was about to burn down... And as he saw the lights of a festival, his eyes opened up to the beauty of humans and the world, and he took a chance. Within 5 years of secrets and meetings, he told his father he was done with the plan, and that he found love. It didn't go well. The last thing Kilgharrah ever said to his son was that he hoped his child never knew what it was like to be a dragon. Two years later, Arman rushed to the caves, holding his newborn daughter, bloodied and torn. He never even looked his father in the eye, he merely placed baby Saphira where she wouldn't be found, and ran back out. Nobody found him at all. Kilgharrah, angry at himself for the last thing he did with his son being arguing, chose to raise Saphira, despite her being stuck in her human form, and train her to be the best she could be. Saphira grew up to be a kind and witty young lady, but she often talks to herself due to living with only one dragon, and he talks in riddles.
