Dream and Nightmare's world already had positivity, too much of it in fact that they go crawling to Nightmare. The villagers wanted nothing to do with Dream making him feel left out. Dream tried everything to attracted the attention of the villagers , but nothing worked leaving him even lonely. Nightmare is always swarmed and taking away from Dream, slowly making him despise Nightmare.

Dream almost tried and reach for the negativity apple multiple times, never actually touching one. After awhile he could no longer it running away from their Au. He gathered sanses of any sad background/Au helping them.
