"Come on, Dan, let me help." Phil pleads.
Dan thinks before opening his arms up.
Phil approaches the boy and picks him up in a forward piggy back.
He carries Dan over to the bed.
Dan allows him this.
Phil dresses Dan before taking his hand.
Dan accepts and follows Phil downstairs.
Phil's mother greets them with pancakes and waffles with sugary toppings.
She knows about Dan.
She accepts Dan.
Dan stares at the food for a long time.
"Come on, Dan, eat up." Phil encourages gently.
"Patient, Phil, he's learning." Mrs Lester says with a small smile towards her son's new friend.
Dan hesitantly picks up a fork.
