DANGANRONPA : X-OUT

prologue III
stark contrast

After ignoring Benji for whatever reason, Modero went over to sit down. He put his head in his hands as he thought to himself, about the building, the plants, the people - true to Aneko's words, almost everyone here looked the part of an Ultimate.

Looking at himself, he could admit that he really didn't look like an Ultimate - just some guy who customises uniform. There were blatant ones, like the individual with the cool cloak and Splatoon-looking hair and the one with the dark outfit and oreo-looking hair. Then there were some who looked like civilians, like the one with the purple jacket and other guy with green hair - okay, yes, maybe bright green hair isn't the most normal, but Modero had seen worse.

...probably.

He sat there for a while, staring at the ceiling. He observed the stone plastered across the ceiling neatly, the gaps filled in with cement. It really did have a mansion-esque feel to him. Squinting to no avail, Modero observed closer. It was as if there was a hatch disguised on the ceiling above the center of the stage. He had a feeling it would be relevant later. Stretching his legs, he decided to meet some more people. His social battery hadn't drained yet, unlike some.

Modero approached a new person with pink hair. He noticed their wolf zip-up hoodie. An Ultimate Veterinarian perhaps? Maybe not, the pink hair was too frazzled, if that was the right word. Ultimate Childcare Volunteer? Maybe.

"ahem... Hello there," Modero began.

"General Kenobi," the person responded in a wispy tone.

"Huh?"

"Oh." They turned around. Modero noted their eyes- ohp and they're wearing a bra great. "Sorry. Didn't see you there. You look a bit like a tree."

"...I'm conflicted between a compliment or an unintentional insult, but I'll take it. Uh, I'm Modero Sanawa, the Ultimate Guide. How about you?" Modero responded.

"Me...? Ah, Kokan Hasuko. Ultimate Poet. Although I think it would sound better if it followed something similar to a K-based name, y'know?" Kokan answered, getting off track.

"Yeah, I guess that makes sense. Nice to meet you, Kokan."

It did not make sense, Modero was very confused.

"I can smell your lies. Oh well. I suppose our upbringings were rather different. Nevertheless, I would like your opinion on this place. I, personally, find it rather soothing - a building lost to time," Kokan rambled, watching the dust fall.

"Me? Um, I find it kind of weird and unsettling, but still pretty. But your observation would also be correct, in a way-"

"AAAAH!"
