Chapter 23: Time is Running Out ~{~Dimitri~}~

~{~Dimitri~}~

I was sitting down and waiting for the doctor to tell me what was going on. I had a "little" panic attack when I last saw her.

*flashback*

I just got to the hospital and the doctor was running to me in a rush.

"She...she didn't-" He started 

"She didn't what?! Tell me Doc!" I interrupted 

"She didn't...make it, I'm sorry" He said with sadness

I shook my head quickly, trying to push his words his words out of my mind, "You're lying, you're a liar, she's not dead...she can't be" I spoke coolly.

"I'm sorry, I am so sorry, I know how you-"  

"Feel? No, you have no idea how I feel, I love her so much dang it!" I yelled.

"I know, man, my girlfriend died because I wasn't there for her...I was working and when I came home" He shook his head roughily and had tears in his eyes.

"I'm sorry, its just that I can't loose her" I pushed past him and ran into her room and head the EKG announcing her death. My whole body shut off and I couldn't control myself. How could this happen to her? I should be the one in that hospital bed, not her. I picked up the first thing I saw and smashed it into the wall. I pickedup the small table and threw it to the ground roughly making shards of wood clustered onto the floor. I let a sob break out of my mouth as I fell to the ground and tugged at my hair in different directions.

Then a thought came to me. Why just keep hurting? Why keep living life when coping with the fact that my everything is dead.

I stood up quickly and darted for the knife. Just as I was about to plunge it into my already dying heart, I heard a scream belonging to a voice I love so much. Not a scream, but a scream of my name.

"Dimitri!". I dropped the knife and stared at her. The EKG started again with her racing heart and tears were raining down from her eyes.

"Amabel" I whispered as I made my way to her. I sat beside her laying form and put my palm on her soft cheek. "You're back" I spoke.

"Kiss me, hurry up! I have limited time to talk to you but if you kiss me I'll come back fully. Hurry! Time is running out!"

I didn't hesitate as I crashed my lips onto her's in urgency just needing her lips on mine. I heard her moan deeply and I instantly turned hard, and groaned. I kissed her hungrily and out of love. Her live lips moved in sync with mine. I thrusted my tongue into her mouth without permission and sucked on her tongue while holding her face in my hands. The EKG was moving loudly as her heart was running a million miles in a second. She moaned at the feel of me biting her lip playfully.

We pulled away to see the Doc and a few nurses rushing in and pulling me out of the rooming while I was screaming at them to let me go. They told me they had to check on Amabel and so with that I left and sat at the chair across from her door.

*flashback ended*

My mother came running down the hall to where I was and sat next to me. "How is she?!?" She spoke in a rush.

I chuckled, "she finally woke up and they're checking on her now"

She put a hand at her heart and let out a breath she was holding.

"Mom...what happened when you were with her, why did she run" I spoke

"The doctor told her something and I guess she didn't...like it or she's probably worried of what you would think" she committed.

"What is it?" I ask

"That's for her to tell not me" she replied

"I need to know something could be wrong mom"

"Just wait...trust me"

"I like her haircut...it's nice"

She laughed, "yes she looks beautiful"

"As always"

"We ran into someone she called 'Matt'"

I stared at her blankly and went cold, "what happened?".

"I don't know they spoke alone but I could see she hated him with a passion".

At that I calmed down and smiled. I love her so much. I don't know what I'd do without her.

The doctor came out of the room and smiled at me and my mom kindly. We both stood up across from him.

"Anything wrong, Doc?" I asked

"I took some x-rays and found something"

"What did you find?" I spoke in concern

"Amabel...is pregnant"
