Jealous
Author: ficnationShane knew the new guy was trouble from the moment he first saw him. Eliott was everything Shane wasn’t. He was cheerful, talked a lot and wasn’t afraid to show his emotions, he was younger and more handsome. But he had this dangerous glint in his eyes that just screamed ‘trouble’, and that was exactly what he was; trouble.
The former officer didn’t mind having extra manpower in the camp, but the thing he couldn’t live through was Eliott’s connection with you. It was like the younger man started hanging out with you on purpose just to make him mad. You were the first person besides Shane and Rick that he introduced himself to and after that moment, Eliott followed you everywhere like a shadow, anywhere you went, the new guy dogged you. Shane didn’t get a single second alone with his girlfriend anymore and it was starting to frustrate him. The tension was piling up in his head after every interrupted kiss. The loss of your attention fueled his rage. He wanted to be angry at you for not telling the guy 'enough’, for letting him believe that he has even a thin chance of getting with you.
“Shane,” your gentle voice sliced through his thoughts. “I’ve been calling your name for at least ten minutes.” You sat down next to him on the green patch of grass beside a tall tree. You rested your head on his shoulder and gazed at him with worried eyes. “Is everything alright? Rick pissed you off again?"
"Naw, it’s not that,” he reassured you, knowing how his fights with Rick made you sad, you always believed they were like brothers. One of his hands reflexively ran over his shaved head. “Eliott’s not with you?” he questioned with snark evident in his voice.
“Why would he be?” you asked with a frown. “It’s not like he’s with me every second of the day.”
Shane snorted at that. Were you really that oblivious? Or were you hiding something and hoping Shane wouldn’t notice your bond with Eliott? He stood up, taking a few steps away from you, putting much-needed distance between your bodies. He couldn’t be so close to you, not now when he was mad about the whole Eliott situation. Your soft touch was distracting and he had to be on full alert. The discernible scent of man’s cologne when you stood up and moved closer threw him off guard. Shane looked you up and down, rage overcoming his whole body when he noticed the jacket resting on your shoulders.
“I fucking knew it,” he spat out the words, grabbing the clothing in his fist. “What were ya saying? ‘He’s not with you every second of the day’, right?” His brown eyes met your piercing ones, his face expression softening straightaway.
Shane fell in love with your eyes the first time he saw you. They dug into his soul, meeting his in a fierce match, that only one of you could win. One look at your eyes and the man was a goner, thinking of you every second of the day. He didn’t want to be with anyone else since then, he knew you were the only one for him and luckily you reciprocated his feelings. But right now having you so close hurt.
“I was cold and Eliott offered me his jacket, no biggie,” you responded, taking his hand in yours and giving it a gently squeeze. “You have nothing to worry about, Shane.”
“Oh, I think I do.” He pushed you away, your back hit the tree, making you grunt in pain.
“What the hell, Shane?!”
“Ya know what I think?” He took a step towards you like a predator hunting its prey. You nodded your head, urging him to continue. “I think this dumb asshole wants to take you away from me.”
“So what? You wanna do something about it?” you asked, knitting your eyebrows in confusion.
Shane grabbed your hips pulling you even closer to him, the warmth of his body enveloping your whole being. His hand travelled up your silhouette, before resting on the nape of your neck.
“I’m gonna show him who you belong to.” He leaned in, the tip of his nose grazing your cheek. “Don’t turn around, but he’s lookin’ at us right now,” he whispered, biting your earlobe gently before his lips found yours in a possessive kiss.
One of your hands instinctively found his neck, the other one rested on his muscled stomach. Shane deepened the kiss, taking your breath away with the skillful moves of his tongue. He knew exactly how to make you lose control. Eliott entirely evaporating from your mind.
“I love it when you’re jealous,” you murmured before his lips found yours for another heated kiss.
No one could make you feel like Shane did. His hands slid the jacket off your shoulders swiftly. And your man definitely made sure you weren’t cold anymore.
