"LC?" My mom calls out. "Yeah it's me mom." I answer while shutting the front door. "So, who did you go out with?" My mom asks. "The guy I'm doing the music project with." I grab a glass and fill it up with water. "Is that what you were doing yesterday too?" She wiggles her eyebrows. "Yes, but it's nothing like that. We were just working on the project together." I roll my eyes. "Riiight, okay. So what's his name?" She grins. "Shawn." I reply, finishing up my glass of water. "Come over here and tell me more." My mom pats the seat on the sofa next to her.

I sigh and plop down beside my mom. "What do you want to know?" I cross my arms. "What's the project about? I know it's a pair work." My mom pushes her glasses up. "Yeah, as a pair, we need to create a 3 minute song and its due in 4 weeks." I smile, thinking about how much progress we've made today. "Ooh, and how is it going?" My mom probes. "It's going good." I say honestly. "That's good. Ahh I'm just so happy you're finally hanging out with people your age and doing normal teenage things." My mom lets out a happy sigh and closes her eyes.

"Mom." I groan. "I know life hasn't been easy for us, but it's just so nice seeing you be happy " My mom rubs the back of my shoulder. "I am happy when I'm with you and dad." I tell her. "Yeah, but it's important for you to go out there too. I'm just so glad to see you come home with a smile on your face." She points at my face. "A smile on my face?" I furrow my brows. "Yeah, you walked in all flushed and with a different kind of glow about you." My mom nods. "At first I was worried something had happened to you, but then I realised it's a good thing." She adds on, with the biggest smile on her face. "I guess so." I suddenly feel like I'm caught doing something I shouldn't be doing. "Okay, I'll stop bugging you now. Go and take a shower my Lucky Clover." She nudges me off the sofa. "Okay okay, I'm off!" I laugh and go upstairs to my bedroom.

As I'm blow drying my hair, my phone keeps vibrating. I switch off the hair dryer and pick up my phone, it's many texts from an unknown number.

Unknown Number: Hey
Unknown Number: Please don't get mad at me but I went into your phone and called my phone to get your number
Unknown Number: I promise I won't do that again but I swear I have good intentions
Unknown Number: The intention being it's easier to schedule our music sessions in the future
Unknown Number: Cherry?

I roll my eyes, what a classic Shawn move.

Me: I am going to block you.
Shawn: I know you won't :)
Me: Yeah I won't
Me: But I'm going to ignore you
Shawn: We'll see about that
Me: Goodnight Shawn
Shawn: Goodnight Cherry

God damn it, I see what my mother meant now. I am smiling like an idiot at my phone.

"Mendes! Get your head in the game!" My coach yells at me. I have no idea what is going on with me but I just cant seem to be able to concentrate on anything today after everything that happened yesterday. After texting Cherry, I just couldn't sleep and actually spent the whole night trying to think of lyrics for our song. This stupid infatuation feeling has got to go away as soon as possible but I can't seem to get rid of it. I force myself to shake away all my thoughts and focus on the rest of practice.

"What's up with you mate." My buddy Asher asks as he removes his helmet. "I have no idea. Just been thinking too much lately." I shrug. "You know what will help you get out of whatever that's happening to you?" He raises his brows up and down. I am scared to find out but I ask anyway, "What terrible idea do you have in mind?" "It's not terrible, in fact it is amazing!" He exclaims, moving closer towards me. "Let me set you up on a blind date!" Asher grins. "Can you set me on one too?" Mike adds. "I thought you didn't do relationships?" We both look at his direction. "I don't, it'll just be a one time thing for me." He grins and I roll my eyes at him. "Okay I'll ask my sis if she has any girl friends I can set you both up with and I'll let you know more." He claps both out backs. "Who said I agreed to going on this blind date?" I argue, thinking about how I don't want to spend time with any other girl other than Cherry.

Wait, did I just think that? Oh no no no this infatuation has gone too far. "Scratch that, I am up for it." I say in my most determined voice. "That's the spirit!" Asher smiles at me and we all head to the showers. I might regret this later on, but for now, I just have one mission in mind, and it is to get rid of whatever I am feeling for Cherry.
