Headlights of a car shine one the midnight hours as it drives along a lonely dirt road that no one else was driving along. There was a forest on both sides of the road that seemed to stretch on for miles and miles on end, almost like a never-ending labyrinth to whoever was unlucky enough to get lost.
Kyo could somewhat see the stars speckling the night sky through the window though it was hard to tell which constellations they were a part of. Her phone had died and she had already read through hitchhikers' guide to the galaxy so she busied herself looking out the window. It was peaceful especially compared to a few hours ago when her brothers were awake, now the usually loud car was filled with the quiet singing of a song and the mechanical hum of the car as it drove through the dark.
She continued to stare up and leaned against the cold glass of the window, her eyes narrowed as she tried to figure out what constellations she saw. She wondered if aliens existed and watched earth, they would probably be disappointed by what they would find she mused. Humans, in general, were weird, herself included, one minute humanity was preaching love and acceptance because a guy who died 2000 years ago and then the same people who preached love were getting upset when two men kissed. It was hypocritical, but perhaps aliens were also the same way. Maybe other intelligent life forms were also like humans in the fact their flawed beings that made mistakes like buying an apple watch or making questionable decisions.
It was interesting to think about, especially in a world as wired as hers that had manifestations of their spirit's called stand's. Maybe this interest was why she was such a sci-fi fan....well other than Star Wars being one of the only things she watched as a kid.
"I should've put Dune in my bag instead of the moving boxes" she mumbled to herself turning her attention away from the window and her thoughts of the galaxy, her father hummed briefly turning his attention away from the road to glance at her. " you don't have to stay awake, you can get some sleep Kyo" he suggested making a turn that brought the car further into the countryside, "Nah, I wanna help. Besides I'm not tired" she was lying, she was tired as hell but wanted to help once they got to the new house. The whole move had been stressful for her brothers considering they haven't been through something like this before, but she had, and the least she could do is make this a bit easier for them just Like when they welcomed her all those years ago.
